I've just met a lot of indy wrestlers. There used to be a indy league that would hold shows just 20 minutes away so I went religiously until some things happened and they stopped having shows there. But before that, I got to meet indy people like ...
Lacey. She seemed genuinely nice at the show I saw her at.
Portia Perez. Such an adorable little gal. She was talking to Venom (one of the indy guys I used to hang out with) and she just walked up and introduced herself. Very personable.
Jimmy Jacobs. He was getting smashed after a show and I just had to do some shots with him. He was quite the flirt with a couple of the ladies that night, but was very cool overall.
Delirious and Jigsaw. Both very cool guys, and stayed in character after the show.
Annthraxx/Ann Brookstone. Very fun to hang out with. Back when she drank, we did several Jag bombs together.
Austin Aries. Another cool guy who I got to hang with a bit after a show.
Arik Cannon. Genuinely nice guy, and his folks were great as well. Momma Cannon really gets into his matches, I would want to piss her off ... ;D
Norman Smiley. Got to shake his hand after a show and hang a bit. He laughed when I told him that I was just waiting to see if he would break out the big wiggle. He said that he always had too.
Steve Corino. Even though he threw some comments my way (in real heel fashion, I might add) during his match, after the show he was great.
Nora Greenwald. The former Molly Holly was perhaps the wrestler that I ever met. She was great with all the fans and when I asked if I could take a pic, she was great about it. We actually took a couple of them, one with a regular post and one had to be a wacky pose. She did her mean face and threw me in a headlock. I have to tell ya, Nora probably wasn't cranking on it, but it was a fairly tight headlock. That gal has some real strength.
There are countless others, but no one really famous ... except for Nora, I suppose.

rey mysterio - awesome ... stayed chatting for a long time. a train - hilarious ... met him in belfast, he was completely lost (so were we), but he gave us directions to the hotel where everyone was staying dawn marie - was a complete bitch to everyone, but i kinda ran after her and she found it humorous and chatted with me briefly torrie wilson - is far more attractive in person. quiet, but friendly. booker t - kind of intimidating. jamie noble - complete legend. was during his trailer trash gimmick. was going in and out of character a lot. brock lesnar - ignored everyone multiple times matt hardy - cool enough. relatively quiet. Was this before/after the event at the Odyssey in October 2002? I seen pretty much all of the same wrestlers at the Hilton hotel that year in Belfast (got photos with Noble and Edge too).

David Young- I just recently met him at a GCW show, again my friend knew him from back in Puerto Rico...he was pretty nice, and talked to us while some lady gave him a massage...in fact, that was a little creepy... Yeah, David Young was a pretty cool guy when I met him at an indy show in my hometown. My dad asked him where Disco Inferno was (Back when I met him, Gilberti was managing/teaming with him), and David said "I don't know. Can you believe my career depends on THAT guy?" Cool dude. Also met Erik Watts on that show, and that guy was awesome. My sister even had a small crush on him following meeting him.

There was show in my hometown when I was much younger, for the NWA, I think, and I got to meet BRIAN KNOBBS! He beat one of the Demolition members in the main event (hardcore match, of course) then called my brother, half brother, and myself into the ring for a photo. I was barely four feet tall, I remember, and told me to climb the turnbuckle. I did, and jumped down then thought I'd broken both my legs. The mat was ridiculously hard! He gave me the pair of sun glasses he had on that day, and I still have the picture we all took. Awesome day!
P.S. DOINK WAS IN ACTION TOO!!!

I've met a lot of indy wrestlers, I also met Lex Luger for some 'dont do drugs' rally, hilarious, anyways yeah. Kevin Steen, shook Super Dragon's hand, Human Tornado, CIMA, Marufuji, but my favorite is still getting a Chono autograph when I was like 10 after a WCW show. I was like.. dead. Unfortunately I missed my favorite wrestler of all time, Kensuke Sasaki

My wife's aunt lives next door to Shawn Michaels. My mother & father in law met Shawn & his family while they building my wife's aunt home. They told me that they are a super nice family. I spent the 23rd-25th down there and I was to meet Shawn on the 26th, but I had to leave on Christmas day due to my Grandmother dying on the night of Christmas eve.
Even though I didn't meet him I figured I'd share that with you.
Happy Holidays!

Big Show - it's already been said, but ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. One of the nicest and cooelst guys I've ever met, and he has a fan for life here because of it.
Konnan - very standoffish and borderline rude.
Blue Meanie - REALLY nice guy and about as down to earth as anyone could be. It's cool just to talk to him about whatever.

I've worked in security for the last 20 years and I've had the opportunity to meet a few WWE stars
The one who i remember most fondly is Kane - he was scheduled to do an appearance at Toys-R-Us in melbourne At the time he still wore the mask and it was awesome to meet and talk to him - but the thing that i remember most is a young girl with cerebral paulsy was there in a wheel chair. She couldnt talk but she was obviously a big fan. Well Kane sat down next to her, held her hand and talked to her for a good 10 minutes. Even though she couldnt talk back, the smile on her face said it all.
MIck Foley - I was in charge of security at a major stadium and the WWE were in town. Mick Foley wanted to see an Aussie Rules football match so we arranged for him to attend the stadium - in secret. We had a spare sponsor box so we brought him in - I got to sit with him one on one and talk - really down to earth nice guy - he even signed a socko autograph for me
Ric Flair - again at the same stadium - he was in melbourne for some AFL promo - we put up a big WOOOOO sign at the front -when he arrived he stopped in the middle of the courtyard - let out a big wooooo - later after the promo he sat down with all the guards, had a drink and a talk - another great moment

I live in the Charlotte, NC area, so I've met quite a few wrestlers over the years.
- RIC FLAIR: I've met him twice at the Charlotte-Douglas Airport. The first time was in the late 80s, and he had an entourage of women with him so he didn't stop for anyone. The second time was in 1995, and my dad and I spoke to him while he was getting a cup of coffee. He seemed nice, but he said he was a bit jetlagged after the long flight.
- Tully Blanchard: Met him backstage after an NWA indy show in Charlotte back in the mid-90s. I got to go backstage with my cousin, because he worked at one of the local radio stations that was promoting the show. Tully spoke briefly to my cousin, but then he totally blew me off. Prick.
- Barry Windham: I met him at the same show. He was tagging with Tully in the main event. He shook my hand and gave an autograph. Very laid back and cool. And tall.
- Ricky Steamboat: Met him in the skybox at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1998. He was there watching the indy car race with his son and a few Carolina Panther players. I was sitting behind them with my dad and his business partners. My dad and I both spoke to Steamboat and shook his hand after the race. He was very polite and down-to-earth.
- Nikita Koloff: Met him at an autograph session he had at a local Wal-Mart back in the mid-90s. My uncle and I felt sorry for him, because no one seemed to be paying him any attention. So, we both got an autograph and spoke to him for at least 5 minutes. We asked him why he wasn't at home in Russia, and he just laughed. ;D Super cool guy.
- Lex Luger: Very nice guy. Met him backstage in 1998 after Nitro at the Bi-Lo Center in South Carolina. All the other guys were packing there bags and rushing out, but Lex hung around and signed autographs and took pictures with everyone. His t-shirt looked too tight too.

I met Raven and Sandman back in 96/97. Sandman was in the back of the building drinking all during the card. Very nice, since my best friend and I were 16 and probably bothering the hell out of him for a couple hours, but he kept talking to us, even when I insulted his friend Tracy Smothers and said that he didn't belong in ECW. Raven was just Raven.
Later on, my friend and I accidentally walked into the TNA lockerroom in 2002 or 2003, in Nashville. Security didn't even make an attempt to stop us. Considering that we have long hair, leather jackets, etc. I'm guessing they thought we were part of the show when comparing us to the sea of rednecks going into the building. All the guys that were getting their boots on and stuff just kind of stopped talking and looked up as we walked in. We got quiet, realizing that we hit the wrong entrance, and left. A short time later, we went back (my friend's mom worked with someone in the company) and met Jerry Lynn and Low Ki, among others. Jerry was really nice. Ki was quite humble when we paid our respects to him. I had a good laugh, walking by Sean Waltman, realizing that I was taller and had broader shoulders and such, hehe. No matter how much I work out, I don't seem to gain much mass, so I always joked about being smaller than the 1-2-3 Kid. It was funny to see how wrong I was!

I love threads like these. I love to hear other people's stories about wrestlers and such, even if they are bad ones. The Kane story with the cerebal palsy girl really showed me how much of a gentleman the Big Red Machine is.
Back on topic, I have met lots of E guys and indy wrestlers, and being an indy wrestler on the circuit helps out a lot (PWO on STO! There is my plug.) So without further ado...
Virgil- My first wrestler I ever met. I was at Franklin Park in Toledo kicking it with my friends and didn't know he was there. My friends were checking out some card booths for a show, and one of the vendors told me a wrestler was here. I got excited and wanted to find who it was. Sure enough, I saw the "WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT SUPERSTAR.... VIRGIL" banner, and a small TV showing his greatest hits. So I go up to him and say "Wow, you're Virgil!" (Great first words, I know). He said yes and IMMEDITAELY pushed an nWo Wolfpac license plate. He signed it to me, wrote "Too sweet" and wrote Virgil. He charged me 15 bucks for it, and like a chump, I forked the cash (I thought that's how it went down then, sadly). I talked to him for a few minutes and ranted about TNA, how WWE was all about Kevin Nash (this was in the summer of 2003 mind you), and how he was too big for the 'E. As soon as an old lady browsed, I was out of the picture. I went to Taco Bell with my buddies not too long afterwards with the fact I had given him 15 dollars and that was probably his gross for the day.
RVD(x2)- He was awesome both times. I met him first in Detroit for the auto show (in March 2005, when he was injured). I gave him a student council campaign poster I made with him on it ("Everything is cool when you're RVD, so why not vote for BIP*?"). He asked if I won and I said no, then we both laughed. I asked when he comes back if he was going to have a cool vs. cool feud with Carlito, and he laughed (as only him or someone that shares a fondness for bad jokes would have done). Totally cool and signed everything I brought. Second time was cool, I gave him a pic of us on the first time and a bunch of Ghostrider comics, which he said he probably had but would take them anyway. When he looked through, his eyes got huge, so I take it I got him some goodies and said he was definitely reading them on the plane ride home. The second time was in Cleveland in July of 05, I think.
John Cena- this was right before Wrestlemania XX at the auto show in Toledo. Amazingly nice guy, I was kind of awestruck by him. Told him thanks for what he does, and said "It's what I do man, don't worry about it". Wished him well and off I was.
Batista- Auto show in Detroit in March 2006. When I got to him he seemed tired and the guards were very dickish to everyone. I gave him my old Marvel Superheroes lunch box, although he was reluctant to take it at first. I know he was probably tired being there for 3 hours, but he kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
Goldberg- This was a day after the Batista affair at the same show. Probably the nicest top draw wrestler I have ever met. Surprisingly, the line for Big Bill was not very long. He had me sit next to him and chat for a few minutes (he seemed humored when I called him "Big Bill"). Told me he needed to start working out again after lifting girls and young kids for photos. I thanked him for his contributions, and he said thank you for being a fan, which means a lot to this day (he even personalized a photo for my military friend, who is a fan of Goldberg also). I don't care of his ego backstage, the man knows how to deliver to his fans.
Mick Foley (x2)- The first time was at a lecture in Toledo aout his books. Was very friendly and joked with me about the Chamber of Horrors match from WCW. Kind of in and out, but still was awesome to meet the Hradcore Legend. The second time around wasn't that great, as we were at a Borders in Taylor, MI during Wrestlemania weekend. The line lady got very mean and drove us like cattle through the line, so we didn't get a chance to talk much. Seemed tired and worn out.
Scotty 2 Hotty- Met him February 05 in Strongsville at the mall there. He acted like he didn't want to be there, which gave him the dickhead impression. Grr.
Miss Jackie- She was with Scotty. An absolute sweetheart. She was amazed at the 2 Cool WWF magazine I brought for Scotty to sign (it was from 2000... she was honestly awestruck by it). Great view of her.... eyes from what I saw.
Hillbilly Jim- A gentleman. I was on a mission to find him, at this mall. Let me tell you something, Jim is HUGE. And he is is AWESOME shape as well. Signed all of my things and gladly took a photo as we reminisced about the gimmick battle royal (I think I said something along the lines of he was screwed out of the win and he chuckled). Why he isn't featured in gimmick legend skits or scenarios is beyond me.
Bruno Sammartino- The man. I met him at the ROH show on the friday before Wrestlemania (Lenny was there with me). Talked about wrestling in Toledo and thanked me a lot for coming out. Quite humble and gracious, and he is a BEAST for a 70 something year old.
Tracy Smothers- The man again. He worked for a few shows for CAPW. Always took time to talk to the guys and just the most polite individual I have ever met. Apparently at one show a fellow worker (Hobo Joe) said he was talking to Zach Gowen backstage while in the nude. That is pure awesome there.
Zach Gowen- I met him briefly after a Whiplash show in Holland. He signed my WWE magazine with him on the cover, which geniuely shocked him. Talked with him on a few occasions backstage in CAPW and what it was like to wrestle Vince. Just an all around great guy.
MDogg 20- The man. He is one of the coolest guys you will ever meet, and has an absolute hot girlfriend. I have discovered he doesn't work on cardio and he'll walk for miles while on the phone.
Blue Meanie- Great guy. Only talked with him in passing at CAPW, but told me his shoot real first name on first meeting, which shocked me. He has the largest belly in the world too.
Action Dan Spade- Only 3 people in the world would get this.
The list will go on forever, but off the top of my head, others include Val Venis and Super Crazy (acknowledged and winked when I told them they were awesome after this years Hall of Fame), Arn Anderson (well, he was next time to washing his hands in the bathroom at the HOF, but chose not to bother him. He is intimidating), Alex Shelly, Chris Sabin, Nigel, Honky Tonk Man, Buff Bagwell, and Rick Steiner.

This is a predominantley WWE thread, why did it get moved? it's all-inclusive, thus even with more wwe wrestlers being mentioned, it fits better here. Ah, I see.

Met Chris Benoit in June 2001 the day before King of the Ring, was very cordial and nice, shook my hand and got an autograph from him.
Met the Big Show at MSG in June 2003, really cool guy, said he was still sore from the match he had with Lesnar the previous week.

Virgil is the biggest douche bag I've ever head the displeasure of dealing with.I first met him at a sports memorabilia dealer's show back in 2000 or 2001.Lots of ex-football and baseball players were there signing autographs.Chyna was advertised to be there on the day I went and Virgil was there all 3 days.No one was at his table of course. I was there shooting for my TV show "Reality Check TV".My main goal was to interview Joanie "Chyna" Lauer(who recently left WWE) but I wanted to get Virgil as well.I figured he'd be easy and more accessible to get an interview with. So when we got there Virgil was just hanging out at this table by himself.I went up and introduced myself and immediately he signed a picture to me with out asking if I wanted one first. He began demanding $15 as he all ready signed it to me.He kept hustling me to fork over the cash.So I did.Basically if I'm going to ask the guy for an interview I guess it's only fair I at least buy one of his pics.I didn't want to though. So I explain to him I'm with a TV show and would like to do an interview with him.He told me to come back later he was busy now.Busy doing what?I wondered.Anyways my priority was Chyna she showed up for her signing but was in the designated ticket buyers area with the big league athletes. So an organizer for the event was trying to get Chyna for me but she had to get the ticket buyers first plus she was only there for a limited amount of time.Turned out she had a plane to catch and she just couldn't work it in. So I came back over to Virgil and asked if he had time now.The first thing he asks is "How much am I getting for this?" and I'm all "Excuse me?" Then he says "Hey man if you want to interview me I gotta get paid! You think Hulk Hogan or Chyna would just give you an interview for free man?" I went on to say how I've interviewed DDP,The Road Warriors,Booker T.,Jimmy Hart and he cuts me off going "But that's them man!You want to talk to me I gotta get paid!" I was floored and I totally wanted to cuss him out!I was totally insulted a career mid card jobber who made a name for himself riding other people's coat tails had the gall to think he's such a big star he has to get paid for an interview!I stood there dumb founded as he patted me on the belly and walked away laughing. To this day I wished I chewed him out and told him what a joke he was to have the nerve to act like that. The only reason I didn't was because I was put in a position where I had to conduct myself in a most professional manner. My good friend Dr.Mike Lano a respected journalist in the wrestling industry pulled strings with the organizers of the event and really put me over to them to get me in.He wasn't able to go so he wanted me to get some stuff for him to use in his column. The woman who was one of the head event organizers bent over back wards for me,treated me like royalty and tried really hard to get Chyna for us.So if I made a scene,it could have been bad for me and my show's reputation. But ever since then I've been wanting to get back at that S.O.B. and tell him nobody gives a damn about him and his career was a joke!I've even seen him a couple of times at other autograph events over the last few years. Most recently the disasterous Fan Fest in San Francisco which you can view a preview of here www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq8CXdrL43EI just ignore him.I could have easily walked up and talked trash to his face and as bad as I want to,why bother? Is it really worth it?Would he even remember me?That first time was the moment to do that but I kept my cool. If I ever do get the oppurtunity(I will see him again) I will do it but only if I get stuck in a predicament where I'd have to talk to him.Since then I've interviewed more wrestlers still way more famous than he ever was or will be including Chyna. So Screw that never was has been!

I could understand if he had a full line of people, then he'd have an excuse.
