Anyone who played Little League sports you know that your sports team name is based on a real Major leauge team. Anyone else when they were playing LL grow to become a fan of the Teams that they represented?
I Became a Colts fan that way.
Anyone else like that?

I was on the braves for my tball team and I playd youth league for 14 years. My favorite team is the braves, but the other teams I played on I would pay attention to. When I was 11 I was on the tigers and we were horrible much like the tigers in real life. this was in 1999-2000

My first 3 years in youth basketball I was on the Mavericks. So it wasn't much of a stretch for me since I was already a fan.
Then I got put on the Spurs and we were the worst team in the league.

Cant say so for hockey (my main sport). I was on the rep teams, and those teams werent allowed to have NHL nicknames. I was usually on the Hurricanes, Thunder or Storm. Hurricanes weren't a team back when I played minor hockey.
Baseball, I was on teams that I still follow to this day, like the Athletics.
Football, I was on teams I despised: The Argos and Tiger Cats are two that come to mind

I was on a team called the Mavericks in 4th grade. We never won a freakin game and we had to forfeit once, because only 4 of our guys showed up
I hated 4th grade.

I played flag football in 2nd grade and we were the Rams. Finished 4-0-3. I became a fan, and even signed up for the NFL SuperPro club because of it.
Basketball in 5th grade, we were the 76ers. We lost all but the last game.
Softball teams didn't have nicknames, our team name was whoever sponsored us. Our travelling team was called "Blue", because we wore blue jerseys. Oh boy. All these other teams from around the country had interesting names like Redhawks.
