I figure that since the Oscars are a month away, lets vote amongst ourselves of which should win BP among the AMPAS-voted nominees.
If you want to, you can write a short squabble of why you casted your vote for a certain film.

I hate all these stupid drama's that are up for all the awards. I wasn't impressed with the past year's movies but if I had to pick my favorite I'd say Spiderman 3, followed by Transformers. Yeah Yeah don't run your mouths, but that's just my preference.

Like, the Oscars coming up is to determine the Best Picture of 2007...right?

Have yet to see Juno, doesn't look too intriguing to me
Out of the rest, I'll say Blood, even though I don't hold it TOO high. Clayton wasn't very appealing and No Country's ending just pissed me off.
I haven't been happy in recent years with anything
Chicago (meh) ROTK (not that I'm a LOTR hater, but it just wasn't anything THAT special) Crash (pile of shit just like most of the other nominees)
And while I LOVED The Departed and happy to see of all the nominees that it won, I feel that The Prestige (brilliant exciting movie) was overall the greatest movie yet it wasn't even nominated.
So I just have this growing feeling that they're going to screw it up again.

Yeah "LOTR: ROTK" was released in December 2003, so it was eligible for the 2004 awards What I mean is, we're denoting it's the "2004 awards" because it was held in 2004, rather than the "2003 awards" since that's the year of film we're celebrating? Not to seem rude or whatever, I just wanna be clear on WTF we are talking about.

The awards are always (As far as i can remember) early in the following year.
So the Oscars for the films in 2001 are held in 2002
As a guess i'm just gonna say it's so everything comes out

My favorite movie this year was There Will Be Blood. I think No Country was the better overall movie, though.
And I completely and thoroughly disagree with anyone saying this is a weak year. Best year in a while, imo. So many great movies this year.

What I'm asking is, like, the Oscars show coming up, are we calling that: a.) the 2007 Oscars, celebrating the best films of 2007 or b.) the 2008 Oscars, because the ceremony is taking place in 2008 ?

I always assumed you went by the year of movies it was celebrating. Therefore, 2007.
