"Cage Accused of Tax Fraud
Actor Nicolas Cage has been accused of using his production company to "wrongly write off $3.3 million in personal expenses." The National Treasure star is fighting an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) payment after allegedly using his Los Angeles-based company, Saturn Productions, to pay for "limos, meals, gifts, travel," reports New York gossip column PageSix.com. However, a spokesman for the star says the items were "security needs." Cage has filed a U.S. Tax Court lawsuit disputing $814,000 in taxes and penalties while Saturn is refusing to pay the IRS $988,000. "
Since I found this at IMDB, take it with a bucket of salt....and ice cream.
Either way, this is funny. I wonder if he tried to write off some of his taxes on THE WICKER MAN.
"We're sorry Mr. Coppola, but screaming about bees doesn't count as a business expenditure; nor naming your kid after Superman."

I don't see Cage sweet talking Mike Rotunda.

You know, I'd expect Nic Csge to use the "resident alien" excuse for tax fraud rather than Wesley Snipes.

The Bees! The Bees! Ah my eyes the Bees!
I remember the thread a few months back about how Nicolas Cage announced he retired from acting, and every comment was along the lines of "I never knew he started".
I have not, and will not likely ever understand how Nicolas Cage came to be known as a "good" actor.

I'd give him more credit if he DID try to claim "Bad Acting" on his taxes. I think the IRS might actually be more understanding if he included a DVD of Wicker Man in his return.

I would have to agree there. Maybe thats a way that he can get out of paying taxes, like Chuck Norris. Instead he sends a copy of one of his bad movies that year, or Wicker Man, if he didnt make any crappy movies.

I think he can be a good actor.
But he's lazy and sleepwalks through whatever script they put in front of his face.

When was his last "good" acting? I think "Adaptation." is the consensus opinion on when his last good role was. I don't mind bad Nic Cage, though. It's at least entertaining to watch.

The sad thing is, for someone with an overall rubbish career, he's made a surprising amount of good movies. Raising Arizona, Leaving Las Vegas, Adaptation...it makes me wonder why he chose to waste his abilities on garbage like Ghost Rider, Con Air,Next, et al.
He's one of my least favorite "action stars" ever. Hell, I think I'd take Van Damme and Seagal as action stars over him anyday (raises flame shield).
