Statham revs up 'Transporter 3' Knepper joins cast of Megaton-directed sequel By DAVID HAYHURST Jason Statham will reprise his role as mercenary driver/delivery man Frank in "Transporter 3," the next installment in EuropaCorp's shoot-'em-up franchise. He will reteam with co-star Francois Berleand, while Robert Knepper ("Prison Break") has joined the cast. However, Louis Leterrier, who helmed the first two pics, has been replaced by Olivier Megaton ("Exit," "The Red Siren"), who was second-unit director on EuropaCorp's "Hitman." Pic, which will be produced by EuropaCorp principal Luc Besson and Steve Chasman, will shoot for 16 weeks in Russia and France. The first two films in the series, which kicked off in 2002, were written by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. With worldwide box office returns of more than $130 million for the franchise, "Transporter 3" continues EuropaCorp's move into films with broader international potential. Two sequels to "Arthur and the Invisibles," which took in more than $225 million in international box office and DVD sales, are in the pipeline. The first, "Arthur and the Vengeance of Malthazard" is skedded for a September 2009 release in Gaul. www.variety.com/article/VR1117981436.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Another Transporter movie, that's cool. And we get this on the same day as news as the 4th Bourne movie.

Bourne 4 and Transporter 3?
The action genre somehow became even more awesome in one day.

The 2nd movie provided me with the most jaw-droppingly stupid scene that I have ever seen in theatres.
I look forward to this one.

*fingers crossed for an announcement that Clive Owen's reprising his role from last year's awesome shoot-em-up...uh, Shoot 'Em Up!* Dude, that would complete the perfect action movie sequel tri-fecta EVER. Well ever since the announcement of the sequels to Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, and Rambo.

Why is Megatron signed as director of this movie? He hates those puny fleshlings! Because even Megatron realizes that Frank Martin is a badass.

Awesomeness. I'm a big Statham fan and it's nice to see he has no shame in doing sequels. I mean, Crank 2 is in pre-productionand The Brazilian Job is announced. Plus, I loved Death Race 2000 and actualy I'm really lookig forward to a remake for once.
Sucks that the director isn't on board and Hitman looked fairly crappy from the trailers, but if this dude was only second-unit I'm not gonna get to worried. Plus, it's being shot in France and Russia which is all good. I enjoyed Transporter 2, don't get me wrong, but I didn't really care for the whole Florida scene... it made sense, lots of Europeans visit Florida, I guess, but still... it's overdone in action movies with the whole "Trouble in Paradise" thing.

I think I know what scene you are talking about (get the cure that was thrown out the window part). Just about everybody in the theater reacted with a wtf reaction. I say the female shooting down the helicopter with a burst of her pistol and the transporter swimming to the surface with the bad comes in second and three place for the wtf parts of the movie.

Please tell me that Robert Knepper is playing the bad guy. He kicks all sorts of ass in PRISON BREAK *fingers crossed for an announcement that Clive Owen's reprising his role from last year's awesome shoot-em-up...uh, Shoot 'Em Up!* That would be great as well (would be better if Monica Bettaluci is in it again)

DEATH RACE will suck, and despite Statham's best efforts.....but God hates Paul W.S. Anderson.
