They always knew who it was, it's just no one had a picture of him.

I actually hate this. Her history is worth knowing, but this is just too tragic in my mind.
In a related note, has anyone actually read her diary? How much is he mentioned in it?
In a semi-related note, have any of you read Leon Uris' "Mila 18". It paints a not-so-cheery image of life in the Warsaw Ghetto, which both the Nazis and the Polish themselves have pretty much erased all evidence of it's existence.

How did Helen Keller's parents punished her when she misbehaved?
.....
They re-arranged the furniture in the house.

Are there any more flattering pictures of her out there? All I seem to find are black and white ones from the early 1900's.

I have not but I've heard that they were edited by her father Otto Frank (I believe that was his name). He was the only member of the family to survive the concentration camps. Apparently he cut out any mentions of thing that could paint Anne or her family in a bad light. While I'm usually deeply apposed to such things in this case I make an exception. Having just burried his family Otto Frank was trying to preserve the image of his little girl, his little girl who never grow up, in print.

What do you have against Anne Frank anyway? I suppose you're talking to me. Nothing. I don't even care about the jokes. I just know this thread is going to get locked.

Well, we had a good run, regardless if this thread is locked or not. We laughed. We shared some jokes. All in loving memory of Anne Frank.
