Is Miley Cyrus the Next Britney Spears?movies.msn.com/movies/PMG/teenidols?GT1=7701I find it pretty sad that everyone has to be taken down a peg, no matter how many people look up to them. As if no one can be an idol, or no one can be something bigger than life. I like that they use Perez Hilton as a source as well. Man, such garbage... I get that it is human nature to bring others down to your level, because of jealousy, envy, and all that... but Hannah freakin Montana? In a world where you have kids growing up and learning more about adulthood than ever before, you have one bright spot in entertainment, and you try to smear that? Damn.

What'll happen first; Hannah Montana goes to court and gets freedom from her overcontrolling, mullet-having parents? Hannah Montana has a total Britney style meltdown and ends up actually doing porn of some kind? The blonde haired, blue eyed twins in that Aryan/WhitePower acoustic pop group that was featured on 20/20 a couple years ago (can't remember their names) ends up doing bi-racial porn and...i'll stop here. Don't want to get the Mods "Modsense" tingling and get myself in trouble hahaaa...god i'm bored...

"It's a safe bet that as long as masses of young kids tune in to mediocre shows like "Hannah Montana," media companies will continue to make them. So it's up to us parents to turn off the TV and give our kids something better."
That is the most STUPIDEST thing I have ever read in my life. If I had a kid namely a girl I would rather she watch Hannah Montana and not something like The Simple Life.

You can't rely on Hollywood to make role model choices for you, they're messed up nearly always.
The best way to turn it around is to use these type of happenings as openings for honest conversation with your kid so that they learn not to make the same mistakes.

A purity ball? That is f***ing creepy.
If you actually READ the article, you'll find that it's not quite a hit piece. They're more concerned about her going cuckoo like Britney has.

People have nothing better to do than to b**** about things that they feel are "beneath them" to try and elevate themselves, really. Its like when I was a kid and many adults criticized the Ninja Turtles, saying it would make kids be OMG VIOLENT!~! Actually it inspired me to research the history of various martial arts and enroll in classes myself. But nevermind. Kids are stupid.

What garbage. Just when you think its good thing when celebrities get taken down a peg, those media losers go to far.
It seems they want to push teen stars into becoming notorious "bad girls". Is a teen idol that goes bad more profitable to them than one that is well grounded? It's like they're shooting themselves in the foot. Sure, Britney acting like a moron keeps them in the picture taking business, but isn't her behavior going to ultimately cut down her longevity as any kind of star?
What has Miley ever done? Take pictures of herself in a bikini? She's not like Britney. She has a good family and talent.

She's one bright spot in entertainment? For kids that have outgrown Blue's Clues, and cannot yet appreciate LA Confidential, yes. I would say so. I would rather have a child watching Hannah Montana and listen to her music than have a child being entertained by mainstream music and movies, honestly. A purity ball? That is smurfing creepy. If you actually READ the article, you'll find that it's not quite a hit piece. They're more concerned about her going cuckoo like Britney has. Actually READ an article that I have linked to? Now why would I do that? That's just crazy talk. Next thing you are going to say is have facts and a basis to back up comments I make... ...

Frankly, I think there are other options out there, and most have NOTHING to do with a television. Besides, once they replaced Steve with Joe, Blues Clues Jumped the Shark.

My four year old niece loves her and that's good enough for me.
F*** Perez Hilton and people with nothing better to do other than try crap on a nice young woman. She seems genuinelly grateful for her success and grounded largely in reality. Unlike vomit like Bratz she seems like a decent role-model for young girls.

I've had someone explain the Hanna Montana gimmick to me, and I STILL don't understand it.
And then I walked into Kay Bee today...they're selling official Hanna Montana wigs now!
So, the message here is, if you don't like how you look, kids, put on a blond wig and you will find the power of self-esteem.
"I am very old."[/joehallenbeck]

"I am very old."[/joehallenbeck] She takes off her wig so she can be 'hidden' from the public. She wears the wig for her on stage persona. It's like saying that Batman sends a bad self esteem image to kids too... what, with the whole having to wear a mask to be cool. The Masks We Wear...
