Is it just me, or are most of the new Playstion 2 games that are coming out looking a lot worse than they use to...I'm sure this is some kind of on purpose plan on Sony's part...to make the new system look nicer and make me want to shill out the 400 bucks for the 3...
MLB The Show '08 looks about as good as High Heat on the PSX...okay, it's not that bad, but it's close...And Godzilla Returns is a let down graphics wise also...
I'm not saying I rate games playability on graphics alone (heck, the most played game I own at the moment is Fire Pro Returns) It's just fishy to me that the new games aren't that pretty, even compaired to last years crop...

I don't think it's so much "on purpose" as it is because it's really just a secondary thing to them. Most of the budget, planning and work is going to go into the current gen model, not leaving much time or money on the PS2 version.

The PS2 may be secondary now, but there's no denying it has a hell of a legacy.

I believe the reason the PS2 still has games is because unlike the Wii and 260, the PS3 has not been able to 100% over with people.

Do they sell a PS2 with the flip down portable screen all as one unit??? I use to have an attachable screen for the old clunky PS2, but it had it's own plug and the whole thing together was extremely bulky. I loved the PS1 with the fold down screen. So nice and compact.

That'll probably come in a last breath for the PlayStation 2 (probably called PStwo, much like the original PSone), sometime this year or next (maybe. The slim PS2 may be the last breath.) As for a flip down portable screen, I think that they are sold at most gaming retailers (but don't quote me on it.)

I wish the PS2 would drop to under $100, I want one in every room baby! 99 at Target now. With a universal price drop due sometime soon. But they haven't felt a need to drop it really, as the thing still sells. One reason a lot of the games look worse is they are sharing code with PSP projects.

No, for a handheld it is fantastic. But it is made to be displayed on a small screen that has one resolution. It puts out great graphics, but not PS2 quality. Tons better than Ps1, not quite on PS2's level.
