The original, followed by 2. Two is just more fun than any horror movie has a right to be.

The original... however, I really, really like the remake as well, think they did a fine job.

part 2....
I love horror movies that have a sense of humor and has fun with itself. TCM2 is one of the best examples of these kinds of movies.

I have to vote for the 2003 remake...I thought it took the original premise and made it into one of the better horror movies I've seen.
I do like the original, but I've always felt it was a bit overrated. I think a lot of the scariness from the original came more from the snuff-like atmosphere that was just incidental to the cheap film stock being used for it. The acting overall was nothing to write home about. If those performances were turned in for a major theatrical release today, it would be panned across the board.

I kind of agree But I find the real fear came from the fact that they told people it really happened. Which it didn't.

Original.
The "modern" remake took away some of what made the original great.
I mean if you take the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and give it a big budget... well you basically take away what was special about it in the first place. It's just another stupid horror flick.

Original hands down. The meat hook, chainsaw chase, supper and hammer scenes are very disturbing. Though I may be a bit biased as I generally despise most remakes; merely copying someone else’s work and adding your own light twist to it, isn’t a demonstration of true talent IMHO. Any moron off the street can ape the greats. It is far harder to create something great of your own.
