I'll go with "Depends on story"
We've had some cool Human (Starman), Vaguely human-like, but clearly otherworldly (Predator), Creature (Xenomorph)
But they were all cool because they fit in the context of the story

not a fan of exactly like humans..even if they are aliens taking our form (as is done in every alien conspiracy movie/series)
the only time it works is in the Stargate serie's

Humam form is OK.
Unless the whole film is built around trying to get in Contact with the aliens that Contacted Earth to build a transport of some kind to come a meet them and when they finally do make Contact and we finally get to set our peepers on the aliens it turns out a alien have taken a human form.
What was the name of that film again?

I was drinking my tea, and nearly spit it on my computer when I read "oooo Chavo" I, too, laughed so hard! Props to the poll-maker. That being said, I copped out and said "it depends." My favorite is the kind in Signs, the kind you don't really ever see until the end, but then you really pretend you didn't see that last scene, because the build-up to it was so awesome. Yeah, that kind. (p.s., the kids birthday party scene in Signs is one of the Top 3 scariest scenes I've ever seen in a movie--and my favorite genre is horror.)
