I've always had a problem with the Resident Evil games. Albeit the crappy camera angles, limited freedom of where you can fire and the actual controls were normally awful. So I held off on buying Resident Evil 4 even though the reviews were excellent. And when I saw ScrewAttack list it as the best gamecube game my curiosity peaked. For Valentines my wife bought me a copy for the gamecube.
And it is one of the greatest games I've ever played.
I've just completed it for the first time and this game took over my life. I was thinking about this game all the time when I wasn't playing it. I seriously haven't been this engrossed in a game since Ocarina of Time took over years ago.
Anyone else love this game?

LOVED it. I know some old school RE fans had problems with it, but next to RE2 this is my favorite Evil game.
After I finished it I immediately had to replay it.

I enjoyed it,sure I had some slight issues (mainly because I thought Four would end up being the big final war with Umbrella)but when I finally picked it up I enjoyed the hell out of that game.

I enjoy it as a GAME, but as a Resident Evil game, I hate it. It is so far flung from being a Resident Evil game that it is a REGINO, or Resident Evil Game In Name Only, to me.

As long as its not chock full of light locks, horrible controls, and lame diolog, its the best of them all.

No Saddler, YOU'RE small time! It would've been funny if he said that to Salazar, seeing how he, well he's short.

Didn't like it, really.
RE2 is still my favorite of the series.

This reminds me, I have to play Resident Evil 3. I bought it about 8 months ago for the Dreamcast and still haven't popped it in.

I loved the game! The village stage is one of the best things ever.
And zombie suplexing? Too much fun.

Great game despite not being a "classic" RE game.

Totally, epically love this game. I can go back to it at any time and still enjoy it. The fact that its a best seller on like 4 consoles and gets re-released and sold out once or twice a year is a testament to how good it is.

I think it rocks, I got really immersed and played it for a couple days straight. Only drawback is I got paranoid when I left the house and jumped at every sound.
Also, my version's in Japanese so all the written documents mean nowt to me.

Yep I loved it too despite hating the rest of the series. I still play the mercenaries extra regularly, it's better than most full games.

An awesome game that I just couldn't put down until it was complete. The fact that Leon could actually move properly for once was a huge blessing.
Although not realising that he could run when I first played made it very difficult. I know for a very hard fact you cannot walk under those dropping boulder traps, it's not possible. (I'd walked all the way up to that point.)

This game ruled my life when I got it for PS2.
I don't think I've ever been so terrified of a character as when I encountered that regenerating black creature in the lab (much later in the game, the one where you need the infrared goggles to see the parasite inside of it so you can target it).
Good Lord, that stopped my heart for a second.
