In this thread you can discuss local bands or even your own bands youtube links or myspaces would be cool. Over here in the suberbs of Massachusetts we have a local SKA band made up of a few of my friends named The Side Street Bandits. There not great but there not bad either. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0dlMLjDSak

I saw a local band a few years back on a date. They did a bunch of Iron Maiden covers and then their songs, which might as well have been Maiden tunes. They also took long, meandering solos which weren't very good.
They turned me off to all local music.

There's a band from Pittsburgh called Kairos. Sort of an ambient/prog rock band. So far, they're the only good local band I've seen or heard.

Oh wait, there's also local Groove Metal band Dutch Buchanan. They're alright, too.

And, while they aren't local (they're from Nashville), I simply HAVE to plug my good friends (seriously) in Look What I Did. I can't really classify them, genre-wise. PLEASE listen to them!

I like their gimmick more then anything else. It's just still weird for me to think of them guys as more then a "local band" now. There is another band on the verge like them that I can't remember right now though. I'll ask my brother tommorow. I could say Petey Pablo, but once again he's not really "local" anymore and he's a rapper, but still from Greenville.

There's this band here called Senior Citizen. They're decent guys, and I used to have a major thing for their guitarist's sister. They're an OK band for what they play, but the John Cena of local bands, they main-event every show everywhere.
I did almost play bass for them once, though.

The chance to spread lesbian folk music to the Masses! I'm so happy right now! www.myspace.com/alexisanteswww.shelovesyourecords.comAlexis Antes is a singer/ song writer out of Cleveland, OH. In a world of slickly produced pop tarts "pouring their hearts out" singing songs written almost exclusively written by someone else, (usually staffers and producers that give the artist little input) among other things. Alexis' kind of music just feels more real to me. I'm not really in to that many local bands because, I don't go to bar very often and thats usually where the local bands play. The Kelly's are pretty good though. I saw them twice last year. URL to come soon
