I remember Teddy Ruxpin functioned as my only tape player until I got my own little boombox. Many good times were had with Teddy listening to Bobby Brown's "Don't Be Cruel" tape. He seemed like he could really flow.

It's the first adventure of the cartoon only in live action. Everything is the same as the cartoon. It starts with Teddy leaving home with Grubbi then they meet gimmick, tweeg shoots some cannon balls, the gang gets kid napped by the mud blupps. they meet prince arron. they go to the hard to find city to rescue the princess and they find the 6 crystals.

Ah yes, many fun times were had with that bear, especially having him read out horror movie stuff on tape.

Obviously no one really remembers this special, as most people never saw it the first time around. So if the only memory of Teddy Ruxpin is the toy, where is the harm? I don't remember this show, by the way, but it starts out pretty slowly, and doubt it would have kept my attention as a kid.

There's no harm. I'm just wondering if anybody remembers the special. It's how the show was originally going to be shown. But you're right it has a very slow begining. but after the opening song. there is no difference from the cartoon series except it's live action.
