For the longest time, I have had these growths on my torso and I have had them checked out and every doctor I have seen has never seen anything like them before. I have had blood work done and nothing shows up. Fast forward to the present time, my dad, during a routine checkup found out he had a large mass growing in his stomach and told he had to have it removed, well when they went in to cut it out the found it was attached to a nerve in his leg and if they did surgery he wouldn't be able to walk again, so they are contemplating surgery under a microscope to be able to remove it, safely. He also found out that it is called neurofibtomatosis. Right now his is non cancerous which is good. I also found out at the same time, that I also have it. Mine is also non cancerous, but honestly it scares me to death. I DON'T WANT SURGERY, especially after seeing what he went through in that hospital. I think that this neurofibromatosis is a likely culprit in my problems with my back, which has been bothering me for years now. X Rays and MRI's have shown nothing except for a bulging disc in my back (which I know is part of the problem. I just don't want some doctor going in and slipping or making a mistake and me ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of my life.

If it helps you bro I`d just like to say I`ve had 3 MAJOR operations recently, which, if botched would have left me wheelchair bound for life, and may even have cost me a foot, maybe both, but they all went off without a hitch. Have a look about the treatments online and speak to the doctors about it, they may well help set your mind at rest.

If it's any consolation, I've had at least 20 operations in my lifetime and I'm still a teenager. Sure, it isn't a picnic, but it's usually never as bad as you think it's gonna be. I wish I knew what else to say, but I'm really bad at these kinds of things. I just hope everything works out well.

So far my grandma got three taken out and she is still kicking at 86. And thank God that either me or my dad haven gotten any removed yet either. Don't be scared brother. It's best to get rid of them now.
