It's a toss up between Smashing Pumpkins and Howlin' Wolf.

Buddy Guy by far. I mean, its the man Hendrix stole his whole shtick from. Although Howlin Wolf would be a close second.
And technically man, Cheap Trick are form Rockford, about two hours outside of Chicago. I only know that because I'm from Rockford originally. Plus, no love for Big Black or Shellac?

Toss up for me between Wilco and Cheap Trick. Not for the best, if it were the best than Buddy Guy would win my vote easily, but for favorite. I love both fans. However I've seen Wilco live more, so give the vote to Tweedy and Company.

If Liz Phair had retired after making Exile in Guyville, and maybe Whip-Smart, she'd have gotten my vote easy....

Smashing Pumpkins easily.
Second would be Fall Out Boy
And a tie for third with Alkaline Trio and Kill Hannah.

I just don't think anything will beat seeing Buddy Guy play in Legends, and Lonnie Brooks randomly drinking at the bar and going up on stage with him. Still one of my top five shows.
Funny Wilco story. A friend of mine went to see them in concert one time and was right up front. He didn't even realize he was wearing a Son Volt t shirt and Jeff Tweedy actually called him out on it. He looked down at his shirt and all he could do was laugh it off.

Great story for those of us that hope for anykind of an Uncle Tupelo reunion

For anyone that like Chicago bands, you have to go out and find Volume 2 in the Burn to Shine DVD series. Its set up by the drummer from Fugazi. A bunch of local bands set up in an abandoned house the day before its to be torn down and play one song each without a warm-up or sound check. The Chicago one has bands like Wilco, Shellac and Tortoise on it.

Since Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco don't qualify as bands, I went with being Down With the Sickness.
