I'm sitting here on my bed watching one of my faivorite movies of all time (The Warriors) and I got to think to myself "wow... i'm 24 years old...". Reason I make mention to this is because im seeing the fandom getting younger and younger and I'm just getting older and older that I start to feel like the creepy old man just hanging around with kids. It just doesn't help that I had an experience with a 30 year old guy wanting to hang around with us 17 year old kids when I first started college... so the stigmata of being that guy looms more and more.... I dunno, does anyone else feel this way? where you just seem out-of-place with the world?

I think the problem is that nobody wants to grow up anymore, because fan-groups stay young, and you really can't be the pedophile hanging around with the kids as you get older, but you still want to be part of those groups, especially with the internet being around to make people feel less guilty about talking with people significantly younger when they don't have to meet them in person.

I was in a comic book shop the other day and two youngens came in and started talking to me about comics. I left after a few awkward minutes, but I did want to help them find some good comics.

Not sure what exactly it is you are a fan of but, sooner or later you will no longer be a fan of it and it will be cool. Or you'll just be the creepy guy thats into whatever it is you are into.

dude I am only 20 and I have been feeling like this for a while...long time... Me too. It's weird and I shouldn't feel old but I do. I'm just about to finish uni and head out into the real world, which is exciting, but also scary. It doesn't help that my gf's little sister has recently turned 18, I remember her when she was like 14. It just seems wrong that shes going to start uni this year too.

I am 33, and all I have to say to a 24 year old that complains about getting old is, "Bite me".

I don't think of him as any older, but there's a huge difference between a single guy with no kids and being Married...with children
