Which do you prefer?
To me a can comes first. Then soda in a bottle (especially glass bottle)

Tastes better out of a can, but on the go, you need a bottle.

Tastes better out of a can, but on the go, you need a bottle. You know, I prefer the bottle because I believe the can messes with the taste.

Glass bottles are my favorite because they are a retro sort of thing now a days. It always makes them seem more like a beer or something. Plastic bottles are really sort of boring but they are nice because you can reseal them. Otherwise I prefer cans.

Bottle.
Has anyone else seen those root beer floats in a bottle or whatever? The A&W kind? There's also an orange soda float one...anyway, its the tastiest thing I've ever drank, and I see them at convenience stores all the time.

I never really noticed a difference in the taste between bottled and canned soda, so I'll have to say bottled soda based purely on the ease of carrying it around.

My hierarchy is as follows: The now defunct old school big ass glass bottle > cans > new school little glass bottle > plastic bottle.

Plastic bottles are awful, drinks taste better out of cans to me, there may be no difference but I really notice a difference.

Glass bottle all the way. Especially when it comes to my favorite cola... "the whiskey of the soda world" Moxie and also root beer and on the rare occassion I can find Coke in a glass bottle.
Plastic bottles and cans are about even for me in sodas. Some I prefer cans to plastic bottles (Coke, Root Beer), but others I prefer plastic bottles (lemon-lime sodas, orange sodas)
Fountain Sodas are hit or miss for me, just because it depends on how well the machine's been tuned and cleaned. When I started work at a convenience store, the fountain soda was free and tasted like shite. The guy training me showed me how to clean the pieces in it out so I did and it started tasting really good. They weren't to be cleaned everyday, but I always made time to clean them in scolding hot water every night regardless.

Glass-bottled soda tastes best. Plastic bottles are nice too though. Canned soda isn't as bad as other people seem to feel, but it's still the worst.

Soda from a glass or a glass bottle tastes better naturally, because the flavor doesn't take on properties of the metal or plastic.

Depends on the drink.
Dr. Pepper tastes better in a bottle. Coca Cola tastes better in a can.

Depends on the drink. Dr. Pepper tastes better in a bottle. Coca Cola tastes better in a can. I wholeheartedly agree. I don't come across soda in glass bottles that often around here. Then again... it may be a case of not really looking for them. There are a few places that sell Jones Soda in glass bottles, and I'm all for that.
