Figured that I'd ask you guys something crazy for my one-year anniversary on the forums.

Basically, you're in a Mars Attacks-like scenario (more like the original trading cards than the Tim Burton movie). The invaders, who are four-armed cyclopses with the lower halves of a slug, are after our natural resources. They aren't any more physically powerful/durable than an average human (and likely slower), but their technology and weaponry is considerably more advanced than ours. They are totally unaffected by our planet's atmosphere and are far better trained in hand-to-hand combat than any man on earth due to the Spartan-esque society on their home planet.

A few major cities and governments around the world have fallen in the time span of around two months, but the United States remains a world stronghold and the creatures are encountering difficulties in American territory- though we are likely on the verge of defeat and martial law has been declared. Some of our leaders are suggesting surrender under certain conditions, and freedom fighter groups are springing up left and right.

There is dissension among the slug people with about half insisting that the earthlings should be wiped out and others claiming that they should take the amount of fuel that our world leaders are offering (as the agreement states) and leave. The deal is likely to be rejected, but there is very, very little hope of us winning should we choose to go to war.

Lives are being lost and we are running out of time. Do we take a change and go for the small hope of a surrender agreement, or do we go for broke and fight to the death?

(And please, let's leave the politics out of it. This is pure fantasy.)

Well, the aliens are obviously unattractive, so "Being taken as a slave to make constantly with their women to increase their numbers" is not an option....I join the resistance and bring with me my alliance with Godzilla, thus saving us all.

A superior class of being gives me an opportunity to live with them? Who am I to turn it down?

Eh, humans are overrated. I'm perfectly prepared to betray this stupid little planet and work for the almighty slug alien things. I'll probably start off toiling in some slave worker camp for their prisoners, but after I prove myself, who knows... they might trust me enough to make me a janitor with advanced alien cleaning implements.

Let's be honest I am not a hero, but I get that I have to do what would be in favor of the aggregate good. I.e., I am backstabbing my race if it means the survival of humanity and myself. I expect someone to come along and kill me, because I am a bad guy. But I am doing what's right, not worrying about what some short sighted little twits perceive me to be. After all, I am right. Because better enslaved with the hope of freedom, then dead and buried with no chance for anything.

Do I have the wherewithal or the resolve to do this? I don't know. I am not the smartest guy. But I don't have to be, I just have to be willing to flinch last. I just have to see it to the end. I just have to be right.

Anyone screws with my plan, they have to die. Because this kind of thing isn't about one person, or an ideology.

I am not a hero.
