In a sad sense, its as epic as McKay and the Olympics, or Cossell with Lennon. I haven't seen too much of his stuff, but from what I hear, he was very respected and he loved politics and the crap that goes on in them. He will be missed.

That's rough. I was having a hard time getting through it just because Tom was.

A lot of other folks in the NBC offices seemed visually distraught. RIP.

he always made me watch when he was on. he seemed like he just enjoyed politics and with every person in news basically "putting over" whoever they liked or whatever party they were with he was one of the few who seemed legit in calling it how it was and letting the people decide what they thought. rip

Man, watching Countdown right now, and this is really starting to hit home. Tim Russert was awesome.

This truly sucks. I heard the news today and still couldn't believe it. He was, hands down, the best political analyst/journalist on tv today. I watched him all the time during the Bush/Kerry debates. The guy was fantastic at his work. He will be sorely missed.
RIP.

What really gets me is that he won't be there to see what could be one of the most historic presidential races ever. It's unbelievable to think he's gone. I'm trying to pull some other people who died under a similar circumstance. It would be akin to Ernie Banks dying September 30, and the Cubs winning the WS 3 weeks later. That hasn't happened, but I'm sure there are examples out there.

In an industry filled with partisan hacks, he was a breath of fresh air. He will be missed. Agreed 100%. He will be missed.

youtube.com/watch?v=ug4enami1ugI don't mean to post this video as an ass to be "ironic" or anything. I'm simply posting this as it was a hilarious moment, in my opinion... It's not meant to be political, it's not meant to be anything but a humorous moment that will always come to mind if I think of Tim Russert.
