This is horrible. Meet the Press was a fantastic show, and Tim was a phenomenal reporter and analyst.

Wow, this is a big shocker. May not have always agreed with him but he's was one of the top political journalists out there and was NBC's go to guy for election coverage.
RIP Tim.

He was from Buffalo, they even had a Tim Russert bobblehead night a few years ago. This is very sad.
May he RIP.

That's awful. He was truly one of the best reporters I had seen.

I saw this elsewhere, but I'm just stunned. Russert seemed to be a consummate professional, and will be missed.

In an industry filled with partisan hacks, he was a breath of fresh air. He will be missed.

I'm watching the MSNBC coverage right now. As someone who works in the industry, and as a great admirer of the man and a fellow Bills fan, I am absolutely heartbroken by this. He was taken way too soon, and has left a void that just cannot be filled.
My condolences got out to his father, his family, and his many friends and colleagues. May he rest in peace.

What really gets me is that he won't be there to see what could be one of the most historic presidential races ever. It's unbelievable to think he's gone.

Seemed like the kind of guy you could just walk up to and have a conversation. Was fierce with his questioning, but not in a "let's see if this will get me ratings" kind of way. And despite his fame, he kept his humility and loved talking about the good times with his dad.
How can you not admire someone like that.
RIP, Tim Russert.

I've always enjoyed Mr. Russert's work. You could definatelly tell that he really was into what he was doing more so than most. He always seemed like a great guy.
RIP Tim Russert
