I'm glad that scientists spent time working this out rather than, oh, say, trying to find the cure for AIDS.

So, how about scientists trying to find what the perfect Soft Drink is?

I'll take "How to Make Things FAR Too Difficult" for 1000, Alex.

I'm glad that scientists spent time working this out rather than, oh, say, trying to find the cure for AIDS. Um, when all the grants for AIDS research are taken, they have to do something. Some how I think all these scientists doing whacky things really want to change the world, but can't get the funding.

I'm glad that scientists spent time working this out rather than, oh, say, trying to find the cure for AIDS. They needed to waste time on dinner! Or lunch, or something to that extent. Dealing with AIDS for 23 hours is a day is serious business.

Somehow I doubt Sensory analysts and bored Mathematicians are going to be working on a cure to any diseases anytime soon.
"Scientist" is a pretty broad term.

Thank you Erisi, the "(Subject A) should be spending their time doing (Action A)" statements are so erroneous that they legitimately irk me. Rather we are talking about scientists, media, police or just an everyday person, those kinds of statements don't take everything into account. Now, I'm not saying anyone here made that statement seriously (I get the feeling it was just joking), but it does happen all the time in a serious manner.

Bah, no cheese sandwich is mathematically perfect, you could always add more cheese. I wonder why you don't see more studies like this that resemble threads here. "Scientists mathematically determine who would win a fight between Wolverine and The Green Lantern."

"Scientists mathematically determine who would win a fight between Wolverine and The Green Lantern." That would be a LOT more helpful to the world.

That's not even CLOSE to being a perfect cheese sandwich. You have to grill it until the bread is brown, and then the sandwich does a short stint in the microwave so the cheese is all gooey. And what's with the extra items in the sandwich? Granted, it sounds delicious, but that's not a cheese sandwich. That's a BLT that someone forgot to put bacon in.
Scientists are f***ing dumb.

Its not grilled. Im sorry that is a failure to me. No cheese sandwich should go un-grilled.
