James Caldwell, PW Torch:
"The next John Cena is upon us. The possibility has been there for ten years, but now Hardy is coming into his own as a main event star. That Whisper in the Wind spot, with great build-up and reinforcement from the announcers, is exactly how a major highspot should be featured on a wrestling show. Hardy is unbelievably hot right now, and the match with Orton for the title should give the Rumble PPV a significant boost beyond the buys generated by the Rumble match itself. (***3/4)"
Wade Keller, PW Torch Editor
"STAR RATING: **** -- A really strong cage match with a memorable classic finish to a Raw main event, made perhaps twice as memorable by Ross's call of the match. "

Can't disagree. Hardy is HOT right now. The crowds are behind him (although most are kids) and he's doing great in the ring.
I hope they can keep his momentum going through Wrestlemania.

I'd put the title on him, and let him run with it, but I know they won't.
Gotta keep it on the heel so he can be run over by the HHHtrain at Mania.
Im sure Jeff will get 25 or so more IC title runs though.

James Caldwell, PW Torch: "The next John Cena is upon us. Is that good or bad? Anyway, it was a good strong cage match, if meaningless because the IC strap wasn't on the line, that went up the meter with that surprisingly exit-spot. That came out of no where for me.

Everything Jeff and Orton did was fabulous tonight. They should definitely put the belt on Hardy, homeboy has those mad crazy skills.

I really like James Caldwell's commentaries. Not nearly as anti-wwe as Kellers

Umaga and Jeff Hardy have great in ring chemistry. Remember GAB?

i'm mad at the finish, I really don't like the use of Umaga as a sacrificial It actually made sense though. Umaga has been Jeff Hardy's kryptonite for a long, long, long time. Dominating the majority of all their matches and usually winning. In fact, the only match Jeff had won was when he got the IC title (after Umaga made a huge mistake). This cage match allowed Hardy to get the "Umaga Monkey" off his back with a clean win that came at an ultimate risk. Also, Umaga's undefeated streak is long gone. In all honesty, I think he's reached a Kane-like level where he can lose but still be seen as an unstoppable monster. WWE has kept him looking strong in his losses (last night, Orton's constant yelling distracted Umaga and caused Jeff to get the upperhand) and I think could easily "Turn up the Savage" at anytime if they wanted a push for him. Then again, that is just me...

I enjoyed the match last night, but I didn't think it was anything extremely special. Hardy is so over right now, it is unbelievable...I mean, I will be extremely shocked if Hardy wins the gold at the Rumble.

It was a great match. I think Hardy has potential to be a main eventer but for some reason, I can't see him holding that title. They've certainly done a great job of making him into a credible challenger to Orton's reign of terror.
Nice booking, WWE.
(No sarcasm) ;D

I cant believe how many are on the hardy bandwagon. His character hasnt really evolved and has been the same for the last 10 years. He cant give u an interview either. It tells u how bad of shape the business is in talent wise where a little guy who cant give u an interview and isnt the greatest worker and is big spot monkey in the ring and looks like the typical grunge guy who buys a ticket to the cheap seats is world championship material and is as over as he is.. WOW!! Just wow!!! I guess anyone can be world champion today. I guess it is safe to the say.. The fanbase has certainly changed. A promoter wouldnt give a Hardy a 2nd look 15-20 years ago and he would be stuck in midcard purgatory

Then again, that is just me... I don't know I just like Umaga more as a performer than either orton or Hardy. Heck if it turns Umaga into an unbeatable tweener again I'd be all for it. The guy is as over as he's going to get, and is part of the "Build up Jeff in Cena's abscence" plan, so it's more or less my Umaga mark in me. Gah I just really would have liked to have seen Hardy take a superfly splash from the cage.
