Alot of you are saying that considering how hot he is right now with the crowds, that instead of the reported finish, that Jeff should be given the strap at the Royal Rumble in a victory over Orton.
OK, what if that did happen? What if we got our first IC/WWE co-champion since the Ultimate Warrior?
The problem is then, what then would the booking be like up through WrestleMania?

HHH would probably beat him around No Way Out, then defend successfully against Orton at WM24.

He'd probably get screwed out of the IC Title during the buildup to 'Mania by whomever he feuded with.
Or he could keep it; not like the IC Title ever gets defended at 'Mania anyway.

HHH would probably beat him around No Way Out, then defend successfully against Orton at WM24. So what about Orton's contractual title re-match?

All I know is that Jeff probably wouldn't make it past NWO with the WWE Title but I would love to witness him win the Title in person at MSG.

He'd probably get screwed out of the IC Title during the buildup to 'Mania by whomever he feuded with. Or he could keep it; not like the IC Title ever gets defended at 'Mania anyway. The way I see it............ Hardy surrenders his IC strap the next night on RAW. A tournament is held that ends at NO WAY OUT with a new IC champion......and it'll be the microphone dude. Since a SD! guy (Taker?) won the Rumble, some RAW guys demand a shot at the new WWE champion, but since Orton evoked his contractual re-match, its Orton/Hardy for NO WAY OUT. But Triple H wants a shot, so he and others are stuck doing the Elimination Chamber at NO WAY OUT: Winner faces the WWE Champion at WrestleMania. So in the feud between Hardy and Orton, we see an Orton that's more desperate and more lethal in his quest to regain his crown. He seriously didn't think he could lose to this Emo Rag Doll, but he'll correct that mistake. Two ways to book NO WAY OUT: Hardy retains, and proves that he is Main Event material, or Orton wins the strap back, making Hardy a hot-shot booked transitional champion. Meanwhile, Trips wins the Chamber. He faces Orton at Mania.... or its Hardy/Orton again at Mania.

HHH would ask for a title shot and since he was the one who helped him get here, Jeff will grant and then HHH will win again..........

the only thing we have to know is that Hunter will get the strap soon or later, no matter the situation, no matter who holds it. He will win it again and again and again till he pass Ric Flair and win 17 or 18 "world titles"

making Hardy a hot-shot booked transitional champion. Is it still considered a "transitional champion" if he wins the title to the same guy he eventually loses it to?

If he wins I'll be shocked. But if he does I hope he holds onto the title into WM. I like when a champion has the belt and a head of steam heading into Mania. But the whole Triple H/Orton main event idea is doing absolutly nothing for me. Unless Orton Punt Kicks Stephanie or Trips kid then I cant see much heat heading into this match.

Hardy would win, drop the IC belt on spot HHH comes out and says he's giving himself a title match right then Hardy looses and walks about of the RR titleless

Yes, a mid-card comedy act, WHACKED EVERY WEEK, is top-title material. Wait, Orton usually gets whacked EVERY WEEK... Hot damn, they might be right!

I'd applaud if he won. I don't think he'd keep the belt for long, but to achieve it after a LOT of hard work and pain would definitely be cool.
