Was just thinking about this: I know that there have been "grand slam" champs that have held -
WWE World title WWE Championship ECW Championship
in recent years, but my question is: Is there a wrestler that's held -
WWE World Title WWE Championship ECW Championship IC Championship Euroepean Championship U.S. Championship WWE World Tag Championship WWE Tag Championship
in their career? I know it's a tall order, but some of you Crappers have to be up to the challenge. Even if one particular wrestler hasn't gotten all of them, who's gotten close? And wouldn't making note of THIS accomplishment be something impressive? 16 time world champ is pretty impressive but to have held all of these titles is nothing to sneeze at either.

Nobody's been WWE World Heavyweight Champion, WWE Champion, and ECW champion. Unless you're considering the World Heavyweight title to be part of the WCW title lineage. In that case, only the Big Show has done it. He definitely doesn't qualify for your second part.

RVD just needs to get the US Championship and World Heavyweight Championship.

I dont think any wrestler has ever held the ECW, World and WWE championship. Bigshow is the only one to win WCW, WWE and ECW though

RVD is pretty damn close
WWE Championship World Tag WWE Tag ECW Intercontinental European
I dont think he's held the US but I could be wrong, and he's definitely not had the World.
Triple Haitch is also close, but he's never held ECW, US or World Tag (has held WWE Tag).

Bessides, the WWE use to consider the grand slam winning the WWE, IC, TAG and Euro titles.
Since then they've had so many belts that I think they gave up on the nicknames like "grand slam"

Angle is close as well. He only needs the ECW and World Tag.

I refuse to acknowledge the European Title as a relevant belt. And I'm reluctant to really consider any record of titles held after 1998-99... WWF began to throw titles around like confetti at a wedding... everybody and their mom held the IC/Tag Team/Hardcore belt for at least a week back at the peak of the Attitude Era.

They totally destroyed the credibility that stars like HBK, Bret, Mr. Perfect, Austin and the Rock gave the IC title through out the years.

Did they mean the old meaning of what a grand slam champion is? World, IC, Euro and Tag? or is there some sort of new meaning that was never explained.

How close was Chris Benoit to achieving this?

Benoit needed the WWE, ECW and European.
I think Angle is as close as anyone is going to get and he's still 2 away.

Edge would've needed the European title, and then need to win the ECW Championship.

The European really limits the chances for anyone fulfilling it all as its been dead for while.
Keep it to current titles and then you have someone like Edge who only needs the ECW and its not out of the question he may hold that someday. Triple H is sorta realistic to fill it, but I dont see him ever having the US belt at this point in his career.
Jericho is also close even keeping the Euro in the list, he's technically had the WWE and World and would only need the ECW and World Tag.

Wow. I created a thread that went to two pages. Sweet. And it's pretty much what I thought. Some wrestlers come close but don't have all of the titles mentioned. Would be cool if one person did. Quite the filler for the old wraastlin' resume...
