Top 10. No way top 5. When I think of bests, I think of not only best wrestling and most charismatic, but those who excelled in terms of popularity and super stardom. Outside of "Flair Country", only wrestling fans really know Ric Flair. well, non-wrestling fans usually only know hogan, maybe savage and possibly rock and austin, so by your logic he could still fit in the top 5 anyway in my list hes #1

In terms of drawing power; number four behind Hogan, Austin, & Rock. In terms of in ring work, mic skills, and over all character number one baby WOOOOOOOOO! Couldn't have said it better myself~!

all time number 3 behind
1. Bruno Sammartino the longest-running champion of the World Wide Wrestling Federation holding the title across two reigns for over 11 years .
2. Ed "Strangler" Lewis who wrestled in 6200 matches and was defeated only 33 times.

Since around 1980 Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair have been the two main key components of professional wrestling. Sure you have guys like Austin and the Rock who reached great heights. But neither the Rock or Austin can say they were main event calibre wrestlers for two decades that Hogan and Flair were. Wrestling existed way before the Attitude Era and to to this day Hogan and Flair were the two top guys in wrestling as a whole from 1980 to 2000.

I'm glad to see some Bruno love in this thread. I'll go along with my un-expert view of top three draws(at least of the relatively modern era):
1) Hogan. No denying it. Everyone knows who Hulk Hogan is. THE man of the 80's with the Yellow and gold. THE man of the mid-late 90's(for WCW, anyway) with the nWo. Ask anyone in the civilized world who Hulk Hogan is, and they will tell you. Even now, as semi-immobile as he may be, he can still draw in the main event.
2) Bruno Sammartino. Watch any match of his during his day. He could sell out Madison Square Garden in the middle of a blizzard, and everyone was there to cheer him on. The fans were so in love with the man it was ridiculous, and he could do no wrong in their eyes. The WWWF kept the belt on him for as long as they did, because they'd be crazy not to.
3) Flair. From the mid-80's to the fall of WCW, Flair was a huge draw. Wether they were there to cheer him as a face, or see him get his ass kicked as a heel Flair put butts in the seats. Especially in the South.
Now, in terms of talent, I'd say Flair is the all time greatest. Brett Hart was great in the ring, but not the most charismatic. Same with Steamboat. Same with Dean Malenko. The Dynamite Kid was amazing in the ring, but spent pretty much his entire career(post Stampede) in tag teams(though tag team wrestling actually meant something back then). Not to mention, even Brits have a hard time understanding him. Hennig was great on the mic, and in the ring, yet never really made it into the main event. Benoit, well, I'm not going there. Piper was great as a heel, or a face, but in the ring, he was good, but he wasn't on the level of any of the aforementioned guys. Same with the Rock. Austin transcended heel or face with his antics, and was excellent in the ring. But Flair imho was just better.
I gives Flair teh win.

This is based only on his 1991-1993 WWF run, maybe about 10% of his WCW career, and of course his present-day WWE career.
I'd say he's in the same category as guys like Sid, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Tatanka, Diesel, Razor Ramon, Bam Bam, Brutus Beefcake, The Honky Tonk Man, etc.

ummm what? ofcourse if you neglect the most important periods of his career youre gonna come up with such a ridiculous conclusion My personal wrestling memories: WWF: 1987-1994 WCW: 1999-2000 WWE: 2006-Present Outside of those timeframes, from what I hear/read about, Ric Flair seems to be only #2 to Hulk Hogan. But all the other awesome stuff he may have done elsewhere has no personal meaning to me, even if I read about it on Wikipedia or a wrestling site. That is why, personally for me, I pegged Ric Flair as a super-high midcarder/low-end main eventer.

In the LEAST he would be in the top 3 of all time.
It doesn't matter if his recent WWE tenure has been less then stellar Naytch has 25 years of wrestling perfection to back him up. Flair will always be considered one of the greatest of all time.

Since it's me ranking it, I'd put Flair in the Top 100. He just doesn't do anything for me.
