Just something I brought up in work today. Even though it was two marks I was talking to. I'm just wondering what you guys think. Who is your favorite out of Rock and Austin?
For me, it's The Rock. I just loved that guy. He could do it all. Talk, wrestle, hell, the guy even SANG! So I just want to know the answer to the question in your opinions.
Sorry if this has been brought up a million times before.

At the height of their popularity, I was a bigger fan of Austin than the Rock.

I think the rock was perhaps more dynamic in the amount of things he could do compared to Austin. After WM 15 Stone Cold really become stale and even on his comeback it just wasn't the same as the glory days back in '98. Thank god for his Alliance run though, that made him interesting again.

The Rock by leaps and bounds. I never really cared for Steve Austin. The white trash drunk character never appealled to me. I appreciated his work in the ring, at least before his multiple neck and knee injuries, but the character was just blah. The Rock made me a fan of WWE, as up until that point it was all WCW for me.

Both guys were fantastic. They were both mega-over and shifted a helluva lot of merchandise between them. They could put on an entertaining match and when they were together they put on all-out classics, Their matches at WM XV, X-7 and XIX were great, with the ones at XV and X-7 being two of my personal favourites.
But which did I prefer? The Rock narrowly tweaks it.

I preferred the Rock as well. Austin's schtick got extremely old to me very quick. THere was only so many times I could watch him stroll on down to the ring, drink a beer, and stun and everyone. The Rock had more longevity to his character and perhaps the bigest star in the history of the business he didnt hang up the boots during his prime. Austin's character was much too one dimensional for my taste. I preferred austin's work in wcw and ecw over wwe any day of the week, twice on sunday

Both were great in the fed, but Austin entertained me more. The character had more depth.

I was never that fond of Stone Cold, while I was always happy to see the Rock, regardless of role.

It was The Rock for me. I don't know if it was because I started being a WWF guy in late 99 and so I never really got to see the birth of Stone Cold and the buzz surrounding him though.
The Rock was always more versatile, but I absolutely loved heel Vince hugger Austin in 01. I guess I just liked The Rock more also because I really felt for him that whenever he was paired with another huge babyface in the WWF, the crowd would always, always go against him. OK Stone Cold was in Texas at WM17 and it was Hogan's first Mania back but jesus christ, in storyline terms Hogan just crushed The Rock's ambulance with him inside! You'd think with that coupled with the entertainment the Rock had given the crowd in the past couple of years that at that point they would show him a bit more love.

Hard choice but I marked out more for Stone Cold than the Rock.
Honestly, it would be a tie between the Rock, Stone Cold and Mankind in regards to the best of the Attitude era.

The Rock, he became Hollywood (a legendary gimmick IMO) in recent times and can come back to an incredible pop, but Austin just can't interest me anymore.

Austin comes around too much at the moment in my opinion. Show up, stun people, drink beer, leave. People are longing for The Rock at this stage.

I am a fan of both men but for me I always prefered The Rock. Rock was wayyy more entertaining on the stick, and he had better matches. The Rock was much more versatile than austin

The Rock was the only reason I tuned into the crash TV known as the Attitude Era, so he gets my vote.
