I'm all for it...and I honestly would love to see Taker win the title at Mania...and possibly Kane win MOTB...then months on down him cash it in and defeat Taker for once for the title.

I'm wondering what would have happened if Edge hadn't have gotten injured right around the time his and Kane's feud was going on. It seemed like there was potential for a title shot run (doubt he would have won it, but it would have been nice) but once Edge got hurt, that whole storyline went out the window.
If Kane were to re-gain his "glory" I think he'd have to come back as a heel.
He is a really nice guy, I hope a lot of people remember that.

It's a shame--Kane's always had a good following and is a solid big man wrestler. It's just that...he doesn't want the title. He wrestles for the love of the game and nothing else, much like Dreamer. I respect both men for it, and that makes me want to see them with the title that much more, but I know deep down it'll never happen again.

The guy has gone on record as saying that he's happy to help make new stars. He's very humble and a big contributor to the business. Guys like MVP, HHH, and others, owe him a huge debt. Yes, he's been jobbed out from here to next week but he's managed to keep a lot of his heat because he has a fantastic amount of charisma. He really knows how to carry himself as a big monster, and he's also unique in that he can be a face or heel anytime. Everyone is ready to cheer for him at the drop of a hat and he's had some real standout moments as a babyface (see his feud with the Unamericans stable a few years back). He could easily, easily, easily be rebooked as an unstoppable monster who destroys everyone and he would deserve every second of that push, just as he deserves to carry, and could very credibly carry, any world title. He isn't now because he's apparently happy to sit back and help wherever he can. Unless something retarded happens between him and the company, he'll get his title run and is a lock for the HOF. This man speaks the truth.

He most likely would've lost to Edge at the GAB in some screwy fashion then go to feud with Finlay as planned last summer. It's not like it would've been the first time he jobbed to Edge, as on Raw he was jobbing to him left and right in 2005.

I disagree that Kane couldn't be repackaged as a threat. Big Show was jobbed out for years before he went to ECW and became a dominant force again. It's not that hard to book someone as a monster. Just have him start destroying people.

Does he deserve to win, yes. Will he win, no way. But I don't think he would really be effective unless he turns heel

Ok, if some serious work went into re-packaging him, and turning him into a monster, would it work then? could it start at the rumble, with him cleaning house of some really big guys, possibly even the Undertaker, and from there, just destroy everyone for a month or so, before really getting into the build up for mania.
Would it work then?
EDIT: I don' think i explained myself properly. I'm talking a serious re-packaging. Not just "turn him into a monster". But change his whole look ands style. Dress him in all black, cover up his upper body again (I just think it looks more threatening) Add a few moves to his moveset. (To get away from the image of Taker, probably a decent powerbomb). Say he wins the Rumble, and for the next 4 weeks or so, he becomes darker and more sinister, as he becomes obsessed by winning at mania. Over a few weeks, we'd see an evolution of Kane, into a new unstoppable monster, still Kane, but all new. What do you think?

Since I've been here since 03 I've been driving the Big Red Bandwagon, wanting the guy to get the title again, but without some major retooling, a win streak, something, it's not gonna happen; really nor should it right now.
So for now, I got the 'Wagon parked at a Denny's, we'll see if anything changes.

Well....I have always thought that due to past history, Kane should be the one who beats the Undertaker at Wrestlemania....kinda like Rock beat Austin.
Would be cool to see him win the rumble, but that wont happen.

Have him win the ECW title then have a feud between him and Taker and have Kane be a mega heel, "injure" a couple oif other wrestlers, turn on Punk, maybe deystroy a diva, put him over Edge, MVP, Khali, and Finlay.
Then a couple of matches with him and Taker with Kane getting a few wins and DQ's with it culminating in a match at wrestlemania with the match either being HiC, Burial, Inferno, or a casket match. This feud could be a great way for one of them to retire off of.

Glad Undertaker thinks that, Glen has always been a good sport about the business and after he retires, I think he should be hired as a top road agent immediately.

I'm pretty much just going to restate what others have said in this thread.
1) Kane is apparently a very private person, and doesn't like having the spotlight on him. He's said to be quite happy in his role as jobber-to-the-stars and putting over new talent. (Even though I think he's overdone it and his ability to put new people over has been tainted by the fact that he's jobbed out to everybody and their mother.)
2) Kane might be an IWC favorite, but his days as a money draw are long since gone. Casual fans will not buy Kane vs. <whoever> as a Wrestlemania main event any more. At best, he might be able to headline a small PPV or two with the right buildup, but WM? No way.
3) Kane has been jobbing out for too long to be considered a credible threat any more. It would take months, if not years, of buildup to erase the stigma of being a jobber to the stars. Which means Kane would have to be going over the exact same guys he's gone on record as saying he wants to put over.
Kane in the ME? 1998? Yes. 2003? Maybe. 2008? No.

Glad Undertaker thinks that, Glen has always been a good sport about the business and after he retires, I think he should be hired as a top road agent immediately. He's always been a company man. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the guy already has guaranteed lifetime employment of some form. It's not often you find someone who is willing to spend the bulk of their careers putting other people over, and being happy to do so.
