If the reports have been true, and if they are, if they're still on the books to happen for Wrestlemania 24, the main event will be Orton/Trips for the strap.
My question is...............do you really care about such a booking? Would you actually want to see it?
I ask because I think that's the central problem with the Trips/Orton program. Are you folks willing to shell out 40 bucks for that match, or that match a reason for it?

For me, it's a program that has a "been there, done that" feel to it in that we've already seen it.

Both of them are very talented in the ring, but there doesn't seem to be much character depth.
HHH: A guy that sprays water out of his mouth and has a sledgehammer. (His history as a blueblood, DX member, and being Stephanie's husband doesn't seem to matter nowadays)
RKO: A guy that kills legends and kicks people in the head. And also happens to currently own the most important championship belt in all of wrestling (he seems to be like "I'm the champion, whoopty doo". At least John Cena, bored as we may have been of him, acted like being champion was the best thing that could happen in his life)
It might be not much more than a puritan wrestling match with not much reason to care who wins. The moves and match flow should be excellently done, but without serious character depth, it might be hard to have much emotional investment in it.
I guess wrestling puritans should enjoy it the most.

It doesn't really matter. They will both deliver at Wrestlemania so I am fine with it.

Only if Big Daddy V is added to the mix to make it a triple threat

Not really.
But at this point, I know it's far too much to ask Triple H be in any other match that doesn't involve the WWE/World Title.

I don't. But when you think about it who else can they really put in the WWE title match? I don't see Hardy beating Orton so Orton will go on to headline (as much as I like Hardy I still don't think they'd want to put him in the main event of the biggest PPV of the year). There are no other top faces for Orton to face besides HHH unless they wanna do a stupid triple threat or fatal 4-way which I never like headling major PPV's.

Naw, not really.
If they absolutely HAD to have Orton vs. HHH. I'd at least like someone else thrown in. I'd like to see Hardy in there. But my guess would be Bobby Lashley.

Nope, I'd rather they keep HHH out of the main event entirely, but if I watch Mania this won't be the match I'm watching it for.

No, and until I see Triple H winning the Royal Rumble, I won't believe it's actually possible.
With Cena scheduled to come back later this year, the idea of Triple H winning the belt at Mania makes little sense, because they already did Cena v HHH last year, and Trips is now a face. So unless they want him to put Orton over at Mania [4th job in a row???], I can't see a feasible scenario involving the Game.

I don't because Triple H will go over Orton and Orton will be back to staring at the lights again. No thanks. The only way I can see it work is if it was a gimmicked match like their Last Man Standing match at No Mercy. That was a great match, the first Triple H match in a while that didn't send me to sleep (also probably because I was tweaked on about 6 cans of Red Bull).
