I liked the match, but it had a horrible finish.
I never expected Hardy to win it, but I didn't expect for them to kill is momentum. I really expected a Matt Hardy heel turn, I had myself convinced that would be the how Jeff lost.

I look at this like I looked at the Hardy/Taker minifeud back in '03 on RAW. Hardy looked like he seriously had a shot, but in the end of the day, you knew he wasn't going to win. Hardy is a great upper mid-carder, a staple to fall back on, but he just doesn't have that true main-event feel to him. I wasn't shocked that Hardy lost, but losing clean was a shock. Who gave this match, and feud, a "true main event feel?" Just curious, because it certainly had it. Also, I don't think this match killed Hardy's momentum. In reality, he dominated Orton for the duration of the match only to, in boxing terms, walk into a knockout punch when he was leading on all three scorecards.

I thought it had a great build up, and I honestly thought that Hardy had a shot at winning the belt, something that I couldn't say after his win at Armageddon. The match was good...like Keller said, good but not amazing. The only thing I was really disappointed in was the finish. Just as I was really getting into the match, it was over.

I'll reserve judgment on where they go with Hardy from here until I watch Raw on Monday. However, just going by WWE.com, I think they'll keep him in the upper tier.
I'm not surprised at the outcome of this match. I kind of expected a finish similar to Benoit/Angle a few years ago. I'm disappointed that this wasn't a better match, but from what I read it was still a pretty good one.

I'm pretty sure their long term plan is Hardy winning MITB.

I won't go out of my way to see it again, thats for sure. I found it very lackluster and suprised Orton went over clean. But Royal Rumbles aren't known for their great title matches (with exceptions for '99, '00 & '03).
But I'll admit, after watching ROH live in Dayton on Friday and watching 2-3 ROH DVDs all weekend & the Undeniable PPV earlier in the day, any of the matches on the Rumble card would've paled in comparison practically from the get go (Note to self - Want to enjoy a WWE PPV? Don't watch any Ring of Honor for a week before said PPV.).
