Sorry but I consider a victory where he gets his first clean win in ages (cause he couldn't beat anybody else clean) shows that either A) Jeff isn't up to his level (the Edge-CMPunk defense) or B) They were attempting to get somebody to give a damn about Randy Orton, who's reign has sucked more than a black hole (most of it his own boring fault) I don't think it completely ruined Jeff's push, but there was some damage done. Didn't Orton beat Shawn clean at the Survivor Series? And HHH clean for the belt (Well it was last man standing, but still, he didn't cheat by tying him down or anything.) It was just Jericho he didn't beat clean, and that wasn't because of him, it was because of JBL. So, if ya want to get technical, Orton hasn't had to cheat to retain since HBK at No Mercy. We don't know if he could have beaten Jericho, same as we don't know if he would have lost to him either.

"Off-topic" for a moment here - Orton's head and the way it was twisted at the beginning of the match? For moment I thought it was a wrestling gone wrong moment. Did it ever look ugly.
This could be ok for Jeff if they run the story right. I would have Jeff acknowledge that he underestimated Orton (say because of his anger over what happened to his brother, etc.) and allowed himself to lose - that maybe he was overconfident - but next time he'll know better.
This way he saves face and he's ok.
However, seeing as though Cena's back it's probably all moot anyways.

personally i see Jeff winning MITB and cashing it in to win the title now...
as long as that happens i'm fine with it so for now... i'm indifferent because it matters where they go with him

I don't think it destroyed his momentum, although it did make Orton look more credible, which he needed almost more desperately than Jeff did. It was an excellent match and Jeff got his share of offense against Orton. It will all depend where they go next. If they keep Jeff on that level and let him challenge Orton again, leaving Cena to feud with (say) HHH or whoever, I can't see it doing much damage to him as an uppercarder at all.

well it certainly didn't help him any.
esp it being a clean win.

Put simply: Jeff Hardy did an excellent job of filling the "challenger" role for a time period where challengers to Orton were far and few between.
Nothing to be ashamed of and the E knows Hardy can be called upon to step up when they need him to again.

"Off-topic" for a moment here - Orton's head and the way it was twisted at the beginning of the match? For moment I thought it was a wrestling gone wrong moment. Did it ever look ugly. Where Orton was outside the ring and Hardy dropkicked him threw the ropes? I though Orton had snapped his neck right there. Anyway, I don't think Hardy was hurt by this, right now. What they do with him in the coming weeks and months (not to mention, how Jeff is physically and mentally) will be the deciding factor. I mean last time WWE gave him this shot, Hardy's demons caught up with him and he was gone soon after. They could take this, keep him high on the card and put the belt on him at any point this year now or they could completely blow it. I think he'll either be winning MITB or facing Edge for the WHC at 'Mania.

Let's face it... with Cena back, there NO CHANCE for any other face on RAW.
If Cena isn't champion, he's chasing the belt.
HBK and HHH are potential #1 face contenders should Cena be busy preventing tsunamis in Asia or preventing the greenhouse effect.
So Jeff is more or less screwed...
A move to SD... Batista, Taker and Rey. He'd end up teaming up with his brother against Deuce and Domino or the Edgeheads.

It just adds to the storyline of never winning the big one. And after he does win the big one via MITB it will just be that much sweeter.
Also the fact that he received a standing ovation shows that he is still as popular as ever.

Yes
Reason being, it didn't capitalize on his popularity and now with Cena back, he no doubt will get little attention tonight.

No.
If anything, they are finally building up the RKO as the move it should be; a sudden move that can be hit anytime, anywhere, and can instantly end matches.
If they feud Orton and Cena, I hope they play up this dynamic, as Cena's FU requires a bit of set-up. I think that'll be cool if they do that.
Hardy did everything asked of him, and more. He looked a legit contender, and face it, for the past few years, most contenders at the rumble have looked weak.

Let's face it... with Cena back, there NO CHANCE for any other face on RAW. I think that this was the killer. WWE is going to go right back to putting all their efforts into Cena. Jeff Hardy is now an afterthought in the eyes of the booking team. If it weren't for Cena's return, I'd say Hardy had a chance of staying in the main event picture. But the first 4 words out of my mouth the minute Cena's music hit was "Nice knowing ya, Jeff". Jeff's push will be all but forgotten. They will now be centering everything on Cena/Orton.
