This is something I thought of as I was trying to get a video from WWE.com to work. It works on my laptop, but as I am at home, it strangely doesn't work here.
Seeing as almost every company has a YouTube channel (CBS, BBC, TNA, ROH, even The Queen has one) and as YouTube users are set to get some money from advertising, would it be an oppertunity for the WWE to join the community and put videos up there?
For me, it comes to two things.
Advantage: You can see highlights of Raw and Smackdown on YouTube without needing to wait for WWE's video to load. Also, with the format, you could possibly put up episodes of Heat so they can be accessed by people in other countries who can't watch it on TV. Also, it might get less people to upload the PPVs knowing that the WWE has highlight videos of PPVs up on their channel.
Disadvantages: YouTube comments being the major factor. The other problem would be any other idiot who wants to, say, block WWE's channel without reason.
So I'll throw it to the board. What do you guys think?

well, the thing bout putting heat on is that it is a disadvantage for the wwe, this is cos wwe have deals with international channels like sky sports who will lose out on ratings if that happens.

Nope, WWE doesn't need it.WWE has their own personal video service on their website, which they can do whatever they want with. Plus, their video service has always worked fine for me. Not sure why people have so many problems with it.

I can never get WWE's videos to work with Firefox, which is my primary browser, I always have to open Opera to get them to work.
I wouldn't be against a WWE Youtube channel.

I voted yes they should, but if the question was "Will WWE do a YouTube channel?", I'd have voted no. They have their videos on WWE.com, and they have lots of international deals in place. Which makes YouTube a bit of hell, as WWE go after anything with those three letters in a title. Stinger's had to change his name six times because of it, though mostly because people grass him up.

They won't do one, which is a shame, but why I asked the question.
Part of me takes all of your points on board, but the other part makes me think they're letting an opportunity slip away. They don't need it at all, but they might do in the future.

Once WWE has a YouTube channel, Kent Jones (the Slack-Jawed Yokel) and Bill & Doug are gonna have a field day with it.

The comments would be beyond retarded (I'm sure the TNA crazies who post "shoots" would form a united attack on any WWE posted video).
Theres little benefit for WWE to do it, they'd lose the ad money they get from their own video player, and their whole deal to upgrade their site for Microsoft Silverlight would have been useless, if it ever actually ends up happening.

They could probably block comments, but you just know that theyd probably just put up recent and/or well-known stuff that every fan has seen before (hogan/andre, austin/michaels, taker/mankind, hbk/cena, etc). If they uploaded the stuff they put on 24/7 though, i wouldnt mind watching it.

I think little unknown matches or rare promos or stuff not from big PPV's should be allowed on youtube, else theres not anywhere else we can get them from.

like someone else said, WWe has their own website. though I do wish they'd change their setup so it's as user friendly as youtube, or Hulu which is pretty awesome yet I fail to see how they expect to make any money or get people to watch tv if they post high quality streams of pretty much every show fox/nbc/usa ever made.

Hulu is a very interesting idea. I've signed up to the trial...still waiting, though But I do agree with WWE videos needing to be more user friendly. The fact that they take so long to load sometimes and sometimes break down is ridiculous for a big company like them.

If they do have a channel, they unfortunately have a legal right to ask Youtube to take down anything they didn't post up. There goes 'Highway to Hell' with Stone Cold and the Undertaker.

Would be nice to open up a WWE video without a "Your Video Selection will begin after a brief message from our Sponsers".. Which is why it will probably never happen.
