This screenshot actually comes from WWE.com: Here's the full screen version: I really do hope that this thread doesn't degenerate into anything bad by my asking this question, but how else can WWE celebrate Black History Month?

The fact that they're celebrating with the deceased is kind of creepy too.

The fact that they're celebrating with the deceased is kind of creepy too. Well the first article is about Ron Simmons becoming the first officially recognised African-American world champion.

I like how every person on the home page (pic wise) is white, and the majority blondes given the context of Black History month. Too funny, in a sad ironic way.

I don't see how Bobby Lashley being released is important to black history month. The Ron Simmons one, and JYD one makes sense.

So... there should be an entire month where WWE absolutely cannot fire any black wrestler. Even in a case like this where Lashley wants to leave.
So, what you're saying is WWE should be forcing Lashley to work for them. Kind of like he is... a slave?!
You damn racists.

Lashely, via his website said he was released nearly ten days ago (or so).....That puts it back in January, so what if they announced it just today. He was gone, long before February hit.

Yeah I noticed that too. Got quite a chuckle out of me. "Celebrate black history by firing a black guy!" The fact that they're celebrating with the deceased is kind of creepy too. Not that creepy, considering the main figureheads celebrated for every Black History Month are folks like MLK, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman and George Washington Carver........who, um........yeah....

Haha reminds me when Raw was on MLK day, and the only people that were not white were Scottish. The only guy that was tan was Kennedy and by the end he was white too.

I remember on the MLK Day RAW on 2003 D'lo began his alignment with Teddy Long and he fought Tommy Dreamer in a singapore Cane Match and before the match he said "free at last free at last free to cane a white boy's ass!!!!"

They're setting Lashley free.
It's symbolic of the civil war or something.

Does anyone remember Teddy Long/Rodeny Mack's short lived "SET ME FREEEEEEE-A!" theme music?
It's like that.
