He would be a perfect Hardcore Champion.

Always been my favourite belt, and I still think they should 'upgrade' the ECW title so every defence/challenge is no DQ or Extreeeeeeeme Rules to give it some strength as a third world belt.
Not that I'm saying weapons should be used every match.

The title certainly had it's moments: the revival of the careers of Al Snow, Bob Holly, Big Bossman; the matches of Steve Blackman; Crash introducing the 24/7 rule (which was fun for the first 2 months); and the Raven/BigShow/Kane Mania match. I'm obviously forgetting some....good times....
On the whole though, it sucked. I can't think of a less credible title than the 24/7 hardcore belt. That and it gave us some really crappy pointless matches between guys who weren't even really fueding. Case in point, I was enjoying that the 24/7 rule was gone and Steve Blackman was having great gimmick matches and fueds as champ. Then after one such match, Raven appears out of nowhere and hits him in the head with a gimmicked 2x4 and wins the suddenly 24/7 title. Such disappointment! No real angle or build, just BAM! New champ! Bull...That and it just made a useless violent match in the middle of the card. Goldust/Maven at Mania my ass...That and it kept former ECW guys from being used creatively.

I don't think those matches were useless, I used to be stoked for the nightly Hardcore Title match, they were always entertaining and they were always fun. I would rather watch Snitsky in a hardcore title match rather than Snitsky beat some jobber with the same big man power moves we always see.

As i've said before:
To be honest it was made from an old broken belt with marker on it and given to someone, who then lost it never even to try and get it again. How can anyone take that as credibly? It was a comedy and entertainment belt from the get go and was good as such. /end speech aimed at no one in particular.

For sheer entertainment value, they should bring it back. It had it's great, hilarious moments. The hardcore title was not serious title anyway.

Only if Steve Blackman comes back too. Man I loved his hardcore run. His match with Perry Saturn at Rebellion 2000 is one of the best 6 minute brawls they ever did for the title. His SS2000 match with Shane was even better.

If it came back, it would be a great improvement for some guys characters for about 6 months. Then they wouldn't know what to do with it again and we'd be back to Maven/Goldust. It would kick ass though if they made the ECW title more of a hardcore title. Then they could have a reason for it to be a gimmick match.

make it a second belt for ECW, maybe even treat it seriously and see how it goes, that's really the only option if your gonna bring it back

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think the 24/7 rule pretty much made it a joke (altohugh it wasn't the top belt to begin with but still.)
That said I probably wouldn't be too opposed to bringing it back, but the brands have enough belts each at the moment.

it was great for what it was. i enjoyed crash having to look over his shoulder constantly, and guys randomly attacking him to try and get the belt. the world titles are where i would expect and hope for 'serious' booking. not everything has to be so damn serious all the time.

I don't think the 24/7 is really what made it a joke, the fact that Brisco and Paterson kept winning it under the 24/7 rule is what made it a joke. It was never a serious title but come on who didn't like Al Snow chasing people down in a golf kart?

It didn't help that Molly Holly won the title under 24/7 rules either.

It was never a serious title but come on who didn't like Al Snow chasing people down in a golf kart? Kept winning it? Brisco is a two time hardcore champion and Patterson only held it once. About the 24/7 rule it kinda did fit the belt, but I think it was overused. It did however give the champion more of a challenge to keep it than to win it.

How can anyone take that as credibly? It was a comedy and entertainment belt from the get go and was good as such. /end speech aimed at no one in particular. The broken title belt fit the "hardcore" image. I don't see any problem with it being any less credible than anything else in wrestling, since what we're talking about in the first place is pro-wrestling. Pro-wrestling and credibility don't exactly go hand in hand. I thought the hardcore division was great. It gave a lot of mid card and lower midcard guys like Bossman and Al Snow something to do and a title to fight for. The 24/7 rule was fun at first, but it got old after Wrestlemania 2000. I think the 24/7 rule is to blame for the hardcore title wearing out it's welcome. I think the pre-24/7 hardcore division could have had plenty of longevity had it not been for the 24/7 rule never ending. It didn't help that Molly Holly won the title under 24/7 rules either. Yeah, those dames holding men's belts. It isn't like she won the WWF Title off of the Rock. Seeing as how anything was allowed I think a female women's hardcore champion was credible.
