WWE house show report 2-10 Guadalajara
by Steve "Dr. Lucha" Sims
Notes: The show started at exactly 6:30 pm CST – to the surprise of the fans who expected an AAA-like half-hour or more delay. There were no pyrotechnics. The ECW ring announcer came out and introduced Teddy Long. Long came into the ring, danced, and announced tonight's matches – and then said WWE Raw would be coming to Mexico in May (he conveniently did not mention that they would NOT be coming to Guadalajara).
1) Kofi Kingston defeated Shelton Benjamin, on fall to zero, via pin fall in a good opener. Lots of drop kicks and ended with The Kofi Kick.
2) Divas Tag-Team Match: Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool defeated Layla and Victoria, one falls to zero. Bad match; Victoria was horrible. Finish was a pin fall by Michelle on Victoria after a version of a DDT.
3) Mark Henry defeated Jamie Noble, one fall to zero. Totally one-sided, a squash match, ending via pin fall after the side slam. Noble executed well, and so did Henry, really, just at a very slow speed. Fans got behind Noble as he was being squashed.
4) Batista and Finlay, seconded by Hornswoggle, defeated The Edgeheads (Kurt Hawkins and Zack Raider), one fall to zero. The finish saw a spear, a spine buster, a Batista Bomb, a Celtic Cross, and then the deadliest of all, the tadpole splash, and both Edgeheads were crushed. Lots of comedy but lots more heat – well, let's change that to lots of crowd reaction and noise, the crowd didn't take it seriously – during the match. Very one-sided as you might guess.
Intermission
5) ECW Championship: Chavo Guerrero defeated C. M. Punk, one fall to zero, via pin fall. Best match of the night. Chavo applied the three amigos perfectly, but Punk kicked out. Punk applied a more elaborate version of the pedigree but Chavo kicked out, then Chavo got the Frog Splash for the win. Crowd was split but did seem to favor Punk slightly. Lots of heat. Chavo did the Mexican flag entrance bit and said how proud he was to be holding the belt for Mexico – what, did El Paso move across the river?
6) The Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker and Kane) defeated Big Daddy V and MVP, one fall to zero. The finish was via double simultaneous pin fall after roughly double simultaneous choke slams. Almost, but not quite, a squash. Lots of heat, particularly for the ring entrance of the eventual winners.
7) World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Edge retained by defeated challenger El Rey Misterio junior, one fall to zero. The repeated last night's match – but added a twelve-minute ring entrance.
For what it's worth, the reviews of both cards overall, in two different countries by two different fans, said the same thing: "More spectacle than wrestling" –they liked the better wrestling of the RAW tour better.

Victoria horrible? Why, that's blasphemy around these parts!
