Occasionally Im suprised by some of the opinions people have here. I'm pretty set in my ways and things that entertain me entertain me. I was in no way "excited" over Jericho's return but I AM kinda pumped over Big Show's return. Not because I'm expecting 5 star matches on a weekly basis, great interviews or compelling backstage antics. It's just what I like and theres really no reason for it, nor could I defend it in any other way than by just saying "I like it"
I think it's awesome that theres varying opinions on this website. Sometimes I find the back and forth on some of these topics so interesting I feel no need to add my two cents.

Everybody has an opinion yes. The point is when people push their opinion as fact ahead of the opinions of others, which are equally valid. Well, either ignore it or state your own opinions as 'retaliation'. I never understood the whole "It's fact not opinion wah wah" argument. In all walks of life it occurs. To me it exudes a mental weakness which means you are unable to debate the merits of your own thoughts and opinions. I understand it, with some people on here they think their opinions are far more important than others and by the way they speak, you'd think it was a fact, but it's only their opinion. I don't mind at all discussing it, just as long as we're clear on what they are saying is an opinion and nothing more. Hardly "wah wah", but to each his own I guess.

The IWC has vastly changed over the years, there was a time when it was basically everyone just wanting workrate and good matches and the good workers pushed at the top, that general thing.
Anymore there are huge segments of the IWC, the workrate thing that it started with segment still exists, then there's the group who only care about "how much money so and so made the company", then there's the other group that want to be like smark savants and praise and like wrestlers no one else does.
My favorite of the IWC groups are the elitest ones who think they are somehow above the other IWC fans and hurl words like smark out like it's an insult and then act to cool for the room. They generally fall in line with the constant "yea who drew more money" and praising bad workers kind of thinking.

I don't throw it out like an insult, but I do use it if I'm making a point, such as smarks (yes I know I'm one) for the most part hate Cena and wish he was gone, but realistically seeing as he's their top money draw, there's no chance at all of that happening. I'm not being malicious towards anyone in my commentary, it's just the truth. And if someone is praising someone who you consider a bad worker, how do you know it's just to be cool? I know I like Batista, maybe not as much as I did a few years ago but he's considered a bad worker on the internet and I don't really care what anyone else thinks of him.

Oh I know I understand wrestling is about making money and he's the top guy. I was just more or less talking about the morphing of the IWC over the years, I remember when drawing was never brought up and it was all "this guy is a workrate god!" The draw arguments don't bother me unless someone makes it the end all be all of what they say, Hogan was an awesome draw but you'll never convince me he was better than Randy Savage. When I say the bad worker argument, this doesn't pertain to just this board but things I've read in general. I've seen people say Mark Henry is a good worker......or a board that had a 20 page thread talking about how much better Umaga is than Samoa Joe as a worker.

Well-written, well thought out, smart thread.
Shame it won't make a damn bit of difference to anything.

I speak fluent eJm so allow me to translate: Yes. We (or at least I) got that thanks, boy scout. What I'm saying it's completely unnecessary. "Everybody has different opinions"? Shocking development. Plus, you know, it's a bit much for a wrestling forum. Was the attitude necessary, bub?

Slightly off topic, but it's something I've noted here lately. It just seems to me every time someone posts something, anything, that doesn't praise a storyline or jumps to conclusions, another group go over and call them 'sad' or get 'annoyed' because they're not waiting for the storyline/wrestler to take their course. And then when someone (same person or not) starts to like that storyline/wrestler, those same people go 'Ahh, you IWC freaks change your minds all the damn time. Makes me sick'. What people seem to forget is that every poster who posts here is a different person. And different people have different opinions on things. Some might be the same as others. Why does this matter so much to people? Every person who posts here has a different opinion on topics and some might be the same as others. Why should they be the same as others? Some people didn't like the Incest Angle...So what? You might like it for other reasons and that's fine. Same for Hornswoggle or anything else in the WWE/TNA. Do we all have to follow one bandwagon and have the same view because it always seems like it is to me. I'll give you an example. I like Shelton Benjamin. Have since he debuted years ago and I think he got a deflated push during his IC title reign. Loki disagrees with me saying he just didn't get over with the fans. Do I have a problem with that? No. Because that's his opinion and I'm fine with that. I respect his opinion because he isn't insulting me. I keep saying this over and over and over again, there is NOT a damn elite group of posters deciding what to love and what to hate. It was, most likely, a joke someone said which people decided to run with and call the 'IWC'. And now, whenever someone says something, they're put into this lame ass box for reasons I'll never understand. I keep asking this question, but why do we always have to put people in boxes? And most importantly, why do it here on a wrestling forum where we're all wrestling fans? Sorry, I just had to vent because this is really annoying me. I agree with you. Sometimes people do agree with me, but I know that there are times when my opinion is not shared by the majority. I try to stay respectful about it though, since I don't get upset if people just don't agree with me. Sometimes I get a little fired up if I think someone is ridiculing me for my opinions, but for the most part I am just here to talk wrestling with other people since hardly of my "real life" friends even watch wrestling nowadays. Plus this is mainly a comedy forum, so I don't understand why some people get so downright angry around here sometimes. I'm not shy to post if I think WWE or TNA is doing a storyline or something that I don't like, but it's not like this is life-or-death stuff here. I am currently in the painful process of watching a family member die before my eyes right now, so I don't think there's anything a wrestling show could do that would garner any legit anger from me. There are far more important things to worry about.

For some time, I've been wanting to share some good news.
I just saved a bunch of Money on my Car insurance by switching to Geico.
