I thought the match was pretty good but physical. Hbk was probably sporting a shiner after taking those elbows to the face.

"the match of the night. Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels is easily a four-star match. This was definitely one of my dream matches. They both displayed excellent athleticism and it was absolutely great to watch. It was so good to watch that right after Raw went off the air, I watched the match again on tape, that's how good it was to me. They gave it more than enough time and had a PPV match feel to it. It also gave hope that Jeff Hardy's push is not completely over. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch at WrestleMania. Overall, it was a very good show and had little to no flaws and was a great way to push the final sell towards No Way Out. They did alot better than TNA did pushing Against All Odds. " - Bryant Mooney, Stamford, Conn.
"However, the fact that the Y2J-JBL and Michaels-Jeff Hardy matches were given time far in excess of the five minutes usually allotted to Raw matches says a lot about the direction in which the WWE is going at the moment. The main event was particularly good, probably the best WWE television match since Michaels-Cena in London last year, although the clean finish raises the issue of how much the WWE should give away on free TV. Raw is essentially a vehicle for increasing PPV buys, but why should fans bother to get the Pay Per Views when they can see Pay Per View calibre matches for free on a Monday night? It could be argued that the matches served as a preview for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match, but Y2J-JBL and Michaels-Jeff Hardy are both contests worthy of featuring on PPV, which will be hard to sell to viewers in the future who have already seen them on Raw. Regardless of this short-sighted booking, Hardy is coming across as a real star at the moment, and this win only served to make him look stronger in the run up to No Way Out. " - Rick Gardener, Manchester: UK
"What a match! That was a great match, in any context. I would not have minded paying to see that quality of a match as a PPV Main Event. That had to be Jeff Hardy’s best one on one (non-gimmick) match ever. Obviously, working with Shawn Michaels helps elevate the quality, but Hardy’s work should not be overlooked. Michaels was great though. I liked the intensity that he showed in working on Hardy’s back. We haven’t seen that type of intensity from Michaels in a while. The match started with some great chain wrestling, had some nice high impact and high flying moves, and culminated in a great final few minutes of convincing near falls. I thought Hardy was going to tap out to Michaels’ new leg lock submission hold. I wasn’t expecting a clean win, but I was happy to see one. It was great to see Hardy get the clean win over Michaels. That helps him get his momentum back to where it was before losing to Orton at the Royal Rumble. WWE has a great PPV feud waiting to happen between these guys. The fact that we’ve seen it for free and it had a clean ending will hurt the match-up down the line. But, if enough time passes, and if the match is looked back on as a big deal and a big win for Hardy, then WWE will be able to ultimately build up to a huge PPV rematch between the two. I know I wouldn’t mind paying to see more of it." - Jon Mezzera, PWTorch Specialist

"Though the score doesn't reflect a stellar show, I was most impressed with WWE's ability to make No Way Out feel like a can't miss event in the same way they have succeeded doing the same with Backlash. And it's HOW they did it that impresses me the most. As a rule I do not order PPVs aside from the"'major ones," but after last night's Raw I changed my mind. Contrast WWE's confidence in Michaels and Hardy's in-ring ability to push the PPV to TNA's foaming-at-the-mouth West and Tenay pitches and it is obvious why most Americans only recognize one professional wrestling promotion." - Jason Stevens of Edgewood, Md.
"the main event confirmed the hottest star in the WWE right now... and the second hottest star" - Paul Calligan, Jr of Hoover, Ala
"Michaels vs. Hardy was a action-packed spectacle. The crowd may have been a little out of it since they'd gone long for taping purposes, but unlike any Cena match, the crowd didn't quite know who to root for. When there were chants, nothing came across as majority for either--if anything, it sounded like people talking over each other. After a while, it seemed like the crowd gave up trying to cheer for someone and respect the match for its action and drama. Both were pulling things that aren't usual for either or haven't been used in a while more due to evolution of the business than anything else, which was a very nice touch. And what a crazy irony to watch: all these years since Shawn's return in 2002 there's been the story of a match being opponents targeting Shawn's back, and this time he's dishing it out. I'll be at the Thomas And Mack for the PPV, and while it while it wasn't the strongest, Raw gave me enough reason to look forward to Sunday. " - Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev
