It'd be a great match. Their RAW match was good, imagine if they were given the time to go at 'Mania? This matchup is better than any potential other main events I can think of.
Trips/Cena - Already happened before, and honestly I don't really care about this. HHH/Orton - Ditto Orton/Hardy - I wouldn't mind seeing these guys go at it again, but I just don't think this match is "big" enough to headline 'Mania. Cena/Hardy - This would probably be a good match, but we all know Cena would win. At least with Hardy/HBK there's a chance of Hardy winning.
I know this match isn't going to happen, but I wish it would. The RAW match piqued my interest, and you'd have a great story with Hardy being compared to HBK his entire career. A good chance for HBK to pass the torch to Hardy and I feel like it would be a great culmination to Hardy's championship chase.

No matter how great it'd be, its going to be a Cena Orton HHH sort of match for the title unfortunately.
I'm all for Hardy, HBK, Orton and Cena match though with HHH turning heel.

Or maybe even leaving Hunter as a tweener and have all three faces chasing orton at mania. But honestly i feel with all of the multimen matches such as the two elimination chambers this sunday, ya gotta have two one on one main events!

I'd love for it to happen, but sadly I very much doubt it would.

For this to work you'd need to get the title off of Orton, give Orton his rematch, and then have sufficient build up to the biggest match of the year all in this time. Wouldn't work. I think a ladder match between the two would have been a good 'passing of the torch' but obviosly with MITB that won't happen now.

I think a ladder match between the two would have been a good 'passing of the torch' but obviosly with MITB that won't happen now. You can work WITB into it. Think of it like this, like that "passing of the torch" proposal I've pimped for some weeks here at the Crap: With Hardy's clean pin, and (assumingly) eliminated at NO WAY OUT, Michaels is peeved off. He failed to get revenge at Orton for last year....he failed last year against Cena for the belt at WrestleMania 23....and with Trips (jokingly) making fun of HBK's bald spot in that random WWE.com video... "If my wrestling career has a biological clock, its now the 2 Minute Warning, and I'm down by two scores!" Remember that RAW promo from last year when Hardy said to HBK? "You of all people know what its like to be held back." HBK thinks Hardy's RAW win was a fluke, and during a backstage interview segment, when someone makes a off-hand comment that Hardy is HBK-esque with his ascent, Michaels goes off. He would slam Hardy for not being as athletic, dressing up like an idiot, and for being only famous for ladder matches...which he HBK did it first. Hardy then fires back by showing clips of Michaels' infamous "male gay prostitute" look from mid-1990s, his embarrasing PLAYGIRL job, and while respectful of HBK's historic ladder duels with Razor Ramon......"me and others took your ladder, and did it better." In the backdrop of this old-man Flair and young-man Sting sort of feud, there is the fact that HBK wants another WWE championship belt shot....and Hardy wins MITB, which is a guaranteed title shot. Ultimately, HBK/Hardy would end with an old school ladder match, with Hardy's MITB briefcase on the line. After a bloody and brutal punishing affair, Hardy would triumph...and HBK, with a blood-soaking face, finally shows Hardy respect. Neither would look bad from this feud, and Hardy further solidies his seriousness as a main event worker..... Which sets up Hardy cashing in his title shot against John Cena at SUMMERSLAM.

I think Shawn Michaels already mooched his way into one Wrestlemania Main Event too many.

I like Hardy, and I'm totally marking for his mega push....but I really don't believe he's Wrestlemania Main Event material yet.
He's a bit of a spot monkey....I want psychology in my wrestlemania main event.
*side note: one of my friends watched RAW last night for the second time ever and even she knew that HBK/Hardy should have been on a PPV bc it was a great match.

I say let Hardy win MITB, have Michaels when the belt sometime post-mania, and then have the ladder match at Summerslam
