So if Austin beating Michaels at Wrestlemania is a 10 and Bret beating Flair in a dark match at a TV taping is a 1, what are some of the best first World Title wins of all time?

I think my favorite first title win of all time will always be Mankind's WWF title.

I was at Hilton Coliseum in Ames when HHH won his first one so I'm kinda partial to that one. Shawn and Savage also stand out as being big time moments.

Mankind was really good. I used to switch to Nitro during Raw commerical breaks, and I don't think I heard them say he was winning. I was sooo excited though. How often did a title change happen on Raw?

When Booker finally won at the Great American Bash in 2006, while I was thrilled that he got his due, part of me was disappointed that he was an arrogant heel, and thus couldn't get the big babyface celebration like Eddie, Benoit, and Mysterio did.

Diesel beating Bob Backlund should probably be the one true 1.

Eddie stands out as one of the top 3 IMO.

So you didn't like how Austin won the title? Or you didn't like how Bret did? His match with Flair was great, and so was Austin's with HBK. I can't tell how to rate!

Both Sting and Vader`s first wins in WCW were epic in my eyes.
I loved Bret`s first title too, and seeing Cena going over JBL for his first was an old fashioned "mark because the face beat the heel" moment, even though the match wasn`t great.
Batista against Triple H was top notch too.
Lowest would be Diesel, anytime Kevin Nash won a belt it was bad, and Goldberg`s first win, simply because of the way it was done on Nitro.

So you didn't like how Austin won the title? Or you didn't like how Bret did? His match with Flair was great, and so was Austin's with HBK. I can't tell how to rate! Just for being memorable. The Bret-Flair match was a great match, but basically I found out by watching Superstars one day and they were like "Hey Bret Hart is the new champ" No build. No anticipation. No big match feel. It was all odd, and I felt Bret deserved better. Austin on the other hand got the slow build (remember this Hardy fans?) all the way to the title at the biggest show of the year, beating the biggest heel in the busines, with an assist from Mike Tyson...
