Before you go after me, this is something I'm doing to prove Square wrong.
He seems to think that, because Mayweather is an Athlete, he'd make a great WWE Champion and it would add a 'real feeling'
My argument is that, even if he is an Athlete, it would basically be David Arquette all over again. It would get mainstream attention but mostly because everyone would laugh at the WWE for doing it.
So I pitch my 28473rd poll to my fellow Crappers. Whatcha think?

More believable than Arquette, but not by much. Mainly because despite being an athelete he's not a wrestler. It's like expecting an MMA guy to be a great gymnast or freaking kyaker. Also, while I'm sure mayweather is enjoying the payday and hype, I doubt he'd give up boxing full time to be WWE champ.

...you made more polls than posts?!
Also I said it because if you think about it, who on the WWE roster could take down Mayweather face to face. It would give the belt a more real feeling and who beats MW would get a giant push as the "New World's Greatest Fighter"

Bad idea, and a kick in the nuts to the wrestlers. Plus he`s shown he can`t even work punches.

It would give the belt a more real feeling and who beats MW would get a giant push as the "New World's Greatest Fighter" He's still a small guy, who I believe has only fought as high as 154 pounds. He may be a great Boxer, but is he supposed to outperform guys who weigh 100+ pounds more than him at a "sport" that isn't his specialty? Maybe they can have him go over in some sort of match where there's special rules to cater to him, but you can't book him to win in an actual wrestling match. It's not like he's Ken Shamrock, who was 215 pounds or so of ripped muscle, had a wrestling background and was an MMA guy. He's a small little guy, who can just punch.

He can't hit any basic moves as far as we know so all he can do is lay haymakers. That'd basically turn Wrestling into Boxing.

Nope, won't work.
And he still needs to drop his posse. It's not helping his image.

Hes way too small. And hes not THAT well know as far as the media goes.
I wonder if Vince ever thought about putting the belt on Tyson. That would have been insane to see.

If I am not mistaken Floyd is not even close to being a heavyweight so how could be a legitimate heavyweight champion? (Arquette aside)
It would not even be close to being credible because like an earlier poster he is outweighed by close to 100 pounds or more by many wrestlers. I don't care how fit someone is at around 150. There is a MASSVE world of distance between the power of a fit 200 to 250 pounder compared to a fit 150 pounder. Huge difference.
There is a reason even in Floyd's own sport that they do not matchup 150 pound guys against 200 to 220 pound guys. Much less the disparity would even be greater in wrestling.

The problem is if you try to push him as a real fighter, you make every single person who throws and takes punches look like garbage. I mean, if someone can take a barrage of punches from Undertaker, how in the hell should Mayweather be able to take them down when he's 200 lbs lighter?

It has to do with the fact that wrestling is 90 percent more than punches. And to be fair Mayweather may weigh half as the Undertaker but his punching speed and accuracy may make is punches more devastating than the Undertakers. The problem is that wrestlers are not just going to stand there and trade punches.

If Mayweather does what Arquette did and sends all the money he makes from his run to familiies of fallen wrestler's, sure.
Since I highly doubt he would and because it's just plain stupid....no.

A boxer as WWE champion would probably ridicule both industries...
If a boxer with two weeks of training is "better" than 60-70 guys who have wrestled for the majority of their lives, you can as well fire them all, because nobody's gonna care anymore.
If a wrestler can defeat a boxer, he and the whole boxing movement will look silly, both in kayfabe and in reality.
The crossover deal didn't work with MMA, and that bears more similarities with wrestling than boxing could ever do.
