Sorry if this has been reported already, but I saw Linda McManequin on Fox News this morning and she announced that Smackdown is officially moving to MyNetwork TV in the fall.
Um...yeah?

3: RAW is on USA Network (a basic cable channel), ECW is on Sci-Fi Network (a basic cable channel), and Smackdown is currently on The CW (a broadcast network channel) but is moving to MyNetworkTV (a basic cable channel).

This is pretty much the same as staying on CW.

Good, I was REALLY hoping they weren't going to WGN. I can see Smackdown still! Yay!

It is? We only get it on cable/satellite. Basically it is the affiliates that were left out as a result of the UPN/WB merger to CW.

I never even heard of MyNetwork TV You're not alone. But basically: if you had both the WB and UPN before those networks were ended, MyNetwork TV is probably the one that didn't become the CW.

This is pretty much the same as staying on CW. Except I don't think that MyNetwork TV is going to f*** Smackdown around that much, because it doesn't fit their "image".

MyNetwork TV isn't in as many markets as CW, theres a ton of random filler programing on the channel. Wacked Out Videos, Paradise Hotel 2, a Cops ripoff Street Patrol, and Jail a inside look at the toughest jails in American are some of their primetime shows. It also shows random movies. The only good thing about our local channel is its home to more Pistons games then any other channel, even FSN. Which might cause Smackdown to be premiped and shown later.

Exactly, they don't have an image yet. Smackdown will get to be their image. Now a network will build around it, instead of trying to hide it away on Friday nights and ignore it. They may stay on Friday though, I don't know. But I would think they would want to move to a different night.

MyNetwork TV is the lamest channel. They have like what, 3 viewers? Goodbye Smackdown. Around here the signal for that station is so weak it's like watching a snowstorm (unless watching it on cable of course).

I'm really not surprised, MyNetwork shows alot of MMA, which has a similar audience to wrestling.

Who is my 9 owned by?
I remember that KTCO in the twin cities was a UPN for years before I even knew what UPN was. I got satelite just to watch Smackdown years later, now that they merged with WB KTCO became a My Nine Station which Direct Tv does not carry. I get Smackdown from CW Baltimore.
I guess I have to call Direct Tv to get them to get My 9 now.
