According to Wikipedia, Porter just passed Barry Windham's 1988-89 reign to become the 4th longest United States Champion, behind Lex Luger, Rick Rude, and Nikita Volkoff. Amazing, isn't it? It doesn't seem like it.

He has 239 days to go to beat Lex Lugar's reign.

It doesn't help that he's been pulverized by Batista in a bunch of non-title matches either.

4th? I mean that's nice but even too trivial for my tastes

Does Vince even remember he has the US and Intercontinental Title in his company any more?

It's a real shame. The guy is easily talented enough to have had some great matches defending the gold while Hardy was out. It seems these days that WWE has gone to the "Ric Flair in 05" school of thought when it comes to the midcard titles. Hold it as long as you want, never defend it.
I mean honestly, would it hurt to throw he and Jamie Nobel or he and Jimmy Yang out there for 12 minutes on a Smackdown and have the belt up for grabs?
Instead he gets to be Batista's personal job boy every month or so when Batista needs a win. It's ridiculous.

Hell if they had him do more defenses they could've built up some INSANE heel heat.

i bet if he actually defended the belt he wouldnt have passed Barry for that honor. and for being a slacker and not defending, he should get the Black Glove Claw from The Man himself.
in the old days there were 30-day rules for title defenses. but that was probably before most of ya'll's time.

Well I thought that was still in effect Then there was that time Helms had his nose broken and they just didn't care...so they killed it.

Teddy Long stripped Edge of the title because he said he wouldn't be able to defend it in 30 days. Yet MVP keeps his?
I knew it, Teddy hates the white people! We should have listened in 03! WE DIDN'T LISTEN!

May as well let MVP keep the belt for rest of his life, even let him take it to TNA with him if he ever goes there...

doesn't matter. I had no idea MVP was even the champion or how the title looks like anymore. you can't compare this era to the era when belts mattered.

(...yeah, I'm reaching here.)

He's as black as the most brutal black in the history of metal.
