Was just wondering how Team IPW:UK did in the Trios Tournament, and whether they were well received in Chikara? Also, did they have more matches after the tourny?

They made it to round 2, beating the Naptown Dragons before falling to Delirious, Helios, and Hallowicked. After two rounds of being rowdy hooligans, they succeeded in getting themselves over; I think a whole lot of the people in attendance (myself included) want to see them back. The Kartel participated in a tag team gauntlet, Martin Stone was in a 4 way match with Vin Gerard, Glacier, and Reno Diamond.
I've got to also add: Martin Stone was very, very good in the ring. The Kartel weren't bad either, but Stone didn't disappoint. They were also incredibly nice during the fan conclave on Day 2.
One last aside: Their entrance music (Vindaloo by Fat Les) has been stuck in my head since Sunday.

I'm extremely glad of this... it's spot on, the Kartel are fun in the ring, but Stone is the business as a tough guy (the Guvnor)... his only problem in IPW is that he's now like Hogan... EVERYONE turns on him. I expect that he'll turn on himself eventually.

One last aside: Their entrance music (Vindaloo by Fat Les) has been stuck in my head since Sunday. I was just trying to figure out what song that was. Great entrance music. But yeah - those guys were over huge as heels. I really enjoyed them and hope they come back sometime. I'm going to have to check out IPW:UK to see if the rest of the talent is as good. They were really coridal when they weren't in the ring too. Very classy guys. WINNERS!!!!

I'm thinking about checking out this promotion after seeing how entertaining the Kartel & Stone were.

Well, the JC Thunder title win will be out soon, I can recommend that show, for a crowd reaction like you will not believe. For the rest, I will tell you tomorrow when I am at work, with a keyboard with a spacebar, apostrophe and square brackets (one more day with this busted keyboard!).

Yeah, from all indicators, Team IPW:UK was one of the two big surprises of the tourney(The other being Tha Soul Touchaz), that no one expected to get the reaction they did. Good to see them make a good show of it, and I hope they come back eventually.

Much like Mr. Mediocre, I've had IMP:UK's theme stuck in my head since the weekend ended also. I honestly think they were the most over visiting rudos of the entire tourney. I wouldn't mind seeing them back. Oh yes, and I'm not sure which of them did it but I was spat upon when they first entered on Night 1. And I'm not talking like a small spray, I was right by the entrance aisle and my face was soaked as they passed. This instantly makes me cooler than the rest of you [/markiness] In all seriousness, I'd love to see IPW:UK vs. Tha Soul Touchaz on a future CHIKARA card. That, my friends, would be the true definition of a charismagasm! EDIT for Mr. Mediocre and personman01: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuAyAeOZlTo Enjoy!

Okay... functioning keyboard. IPW aren't the best in the world at getting out their DVDs, I have to admit, but here they are by year. 2004 - Can't vouch for these shows, before my time, but apparently the main event on the first show, with Cabana, Super Dragon and Jonny Storm, is a lot of fun - however, some of the workers on early IPW shows werre very bad local guys. 2005 - I know little/nothing about these shows, again, before my time. 2006 - This is where I came in. However, in a classic move, they haven't managed to put out DVDs of any of the shows I was at, except the awful Frontiers of Honour II. 2007 - This is the year with the most good/great DVDs... I can recommend any of these, except the Sittingbourne show... strong recommendations to this show, which has a fantastic gory (partially accidental) main event, and plenty of other fun stuff, this show, which I didn't attend but heard great things about, and especially, IMHO, this show, which was the conclusion of a brilliant IPW/FWA 'losing promotion closes it's doors... FOREVER!' angle, and which features the brutal return of the Zebra Kid, who beats the CRAP out of his flippy opponents.
