What led to Crush's debut and Demolition's heel turn while tag team champion's in 1990? I just got done watching Demolition/Rockers at SNME in '90. The one that ended with Ax getting the pin even though he wasn't in the match. When did Mr. Fuji re-join them?
They had their Piledriver song for this match. When did they switch to the eerie theme they used at Wrestlemania VII?

I'm not sure... but I do remember them as basically a job tag team at the very end of their run. Talk about a team that went from the top of the world to basically the bottom of the company in a very short time....

I believe the reasoning for bringing in Crush was to phase Ax out who supposedly was in rough shape (health-wise) at the time.

Im not sure how Crush was introduced. He may have just shown up on tv at some point. They exercised the "Freebird Rule" with any two members wrestling on any given night, though it was usually Smash and Crush. The subtle changes like the music and new masks showed that if something ain't broke, don't fix it, but yea, Ax had health problems of some sort and then disappeared, but he recovered.

While Crush's debut was to deal with Ax's phasing out of the company due to health problems, I'm sure the complete depush of Demolition that came later had to do with the Legion of Doom coming into the company in late 1990...

I saw Crush's debut on YouTube (The account with it has since been suspended...Boo.) and it was played off as if Demolition had just recruited someone new.
The announcers played it off like they didn't know who the new person was and they hoped to learn his name later.
So basically, Crush just showed up and it was accepted

When did they switch to the eerie theme they used at Wrestlemania VII? Ax was having back problems so they brought in Crush to take off some of the load. It also helped turn them heel for when LOD was coming in. As for Fuji WWF Superstars 11/10/90 - included Mr. Perfect and all three members of Demolition as guests of the Brother Love Show: WWF IC Champion Kerry Von Erich pinned Buddy Rose with the tornado punch The Barbarian (w/ Bobby Heenan) pinned Red Tyler at 2:37 with the clothesline off the top Paul Roma & Hercules defeated Scott Colton & Reno Riggins Jim Duggan pinned Doug Vines at 2:37 with the running clothesline The Legion of Doom defeated the Orient Express (w/ Mr. Fuji) via disqualification at 3:21 when Demolition Ax, Smash, & Crush interfered; after the bout, LOD were assaulted by all five wrestlers, with Fuji using his cane as a weapon (Fuji's reunion with Demolition) I would guess they changed their music after Survivor Series 90, which was Ax's last appearance in the company. It wouldn't have made sense to continue using a song that said "Here comes the Ax and here comes the Smasher" since it was now Crush and Smash.

I believe Bill Eadie had heart problems or something. That's why they added Crush. Also, the Legion Of Doom came in, and since they were similar, it didn't make sense to have both teams around.

Ax had health problems, but they were under control. Basically Vince didn't want to deal with the hassle of Ax having a heart attack and dying in the ring. Ax felt his health wasn't an issue and he'd be fine. He didn't realize Vince was basically putting him out to pasture.
This is according to Bret's autobio.

It may still be up there if anyone wants to look.
