Damn, that sucks. I wasn't able to watch more than a few odd WCCW shows with him, but I loved his short stint in WCW with Al Perez, Terry Funk and The Great Muta. That series against Sting and the Horsemen is what made me a WCW fan.

Based on the two WCCW Documentaries... Gary was a good soul. He wasn't full of himself like so many guys in this business. I really felt for him and his heavy heart in regards to trying to help Gino Hernandez. We need more men like Gary Hart in pro wrestling. Hopefully his creative mind and kind heart setss a standard for the business.

In the interviews I've seen of him he comes off as good hearted person that regrets that couldn't save many of his friends lives.

By all accounts, Gary was one of the real good guys in the business, despite his character's nature. Though I only had the chance to run into him on a couple of shows during the period he was managing his son Chad in some Texas-area indies, he always came across as nothing but polite and genuine.
Condolences to his family, and rest in peace, Gary; you're finally with all the friends who left you so early.

When I first started watching wrestling more years ago than I care to think about it was all about two things. WWF and World Class. I would love to wake up saturday morning and forgo the silly cartoons and turn on WWF Superstars. But was I also loved was Saturday nights was WCCW. I can remember watching matches from the Cotton Bowl and of course, the world famous Sportatorium. I would marvel at the Fabulous Freebirds and mimick the moves of The Von Erichs. But there was one person who came on the show all the time who didn't wrestle in the ring (too often) but he was a manager and that man was Gary Hart. The way he spoke and the way he offered "advice" to his stable made me laugh and made me want to be a bad guy in pro. wrestling, that and of course Roddy Piper. I could go on and on about how much of a influence Gary Hart's manerisims helped me with my in ring promos but instead I'll toast my glass to a true legend in this buisness. 66 years old is WAY too young for anyone to be taken away from this world. And I am sad today that one of my favorites is one of those who have been taken away way too soon.
Rest in peace Gary Hart and thank you.

RIP, Gary Hart.
I remember when he managed Terry Funk and the Great Muta in 1989. He was a good heel manager. I enjoyed his interviews on the two WCCW DVDs and found him to be an engaging storyteller. Sorry to hear that he passed away.

I never saw him actually in WCCW and what I find funny is, in the last few days I'd been over at my parents house watching old wrestling tapes. I just got to Halloween Havoc 1989 with Funk and Muta vs Flair and Sting in that big cage.
R.I.P Gary

1 Of The 2 most heartbreaking things I heard on The Triumth And Tragedy DVD was Gary saying he didn't have any photos of Gino Hernandez in view because it hurt too much. R.I.P.

That's horrible. Those two WCCW DVD's were amazing and made me really respect the mind that Gary Hart had and the contributions he made. Plus, he made a helluva manager in the NWA with The Great Muta.
