I'll probably be the only one sad to see him go. Nope, I'm upset too. BJ was extremely underappreciated. One of the first ROH matches I saw that really made me a fan was his Main Event Spectacles match vs. Homicide.

hes someone that was with the company for so long, it'll be like a dent in the company without seeing him.
i was never a fan, but it's sad to see him go.

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship for Whitmer. At times he was really solid, and you could tell that he had potential to be a great, big bruiser type wrestler. I can't front on the time he spent in ROH, and JeHUSS is still one of my favorite tag teams ever.
Come back soon, BJ.

What killed Whitmer was that losing streak. They tried to build him back up, but they never went anywhere with it like they did with Jimmy Raven. Good luck to BJ on his future endevovs.

I've never got the Whitmer hate. I always thought the guy was pretty good, plus he turned a botch into THE sickest and coolest powerbomb that I've ever seen. I'll miss him. I never got it either. I'm going to miss you Hillbilly Jesus

I think I'm gonna cry... Right when I got his "This Bump's for you" t-shirt when it was on sale, too.
I always liked his work, and though wasn't the most charismatic or the best on the mic, I always liked him.
Here's to an ROH comeback... or at the very least, getting squashed by Jim Duggan on Heat.

I was on the side of the ring BJ powerbombed Jacobs. It was truly one of the most intense and scary spots I've ever seen. Some kid was shouting "You smurfed up!" I turned around and told the kid to shut up. Seriously going to miss Whitmer. During BJ vs Jacobs vs Dragon for the title, when BJ was the first eliminated I was one of the only one upset, I stood up and yelled "That's smurfing bullsmurf!" Everyone else looked at me like I was stupid, humbly I sat back down. Good luck Whitmer. I was on that side too! After the botch I thought they'd just hotshot the finish, but the fact that both men still gave a solid 10 minutes after it showed the dedication. I was also sad to see BJ get eliminated from that 3-way, but the near falls with Jacobs were absolutely great... Made you feel like Jacobs could truly win... I was at the three-way, too, and I was pissed. Jimmy/Dragon was just NOT the finals I wanted. But it was still a damned fine match. I'll flat out miss BJ. He was a class act, and the ROHbots never gave him his due. Everyone said he had no charisma, while extolling the vanilla virtues of the company's other bland-as-tapioca performers. BJ was a workhorse; he put his ass on the line for the company, and for us fans, like few others. Godspeed, BJ. You'll be missed. *standing ovation* Jed f'n Shaffer ~Damn, I was hoping for a dominant run with him and Albright.

Seriously... Like Roderick Strong, who the crowd went nuts for but seems to have a repertoire that consists of nothing but backbreakers, and that big ass guy with the mohawk (I can't remember his name for the life of me). I just remember that there was a 4 corner survival to get a shot at Morishima and he won. The crowd took a huge s*** on his win. Then, after his not-so-memorable match with Morishima, they gave the guy a standing ovation like he had just wrestled the match of the night (He did not).
At least BJ was simply solid.

The mohawk guy is Erik Stevens, and he is pretty damn good. i don't know why you're dumping on his match with Morishima cause his performance in that match was very good.
Both him and Roderick are far better than BJ in the ring. Not trying to diss BJ here, I liked him and will miss him.
EDIT: Wait...bigheadinc? Are you who I think you are? Used to be in the Colosseum?

Holy crap, Targeter? You sonofabitch... Oddly enough I was checking out the Colo site the other day to see if anybody was still around... As for Stevens, nothing about the guy sparkles to me. He seems like the first guy you'd inevitably make in any wrestling game. You always give the guy tons of sweet crazy moves but there's no rhyme or reason to it. He just never really was memorable to me... Also, mohawks are for 12 year olds...

I would disagree he's just a generic power wrestler that just throws moves out there. Stevens is one of the few guys I've seen who can do power but also sells his ass off and works hard to make his opponent look good.
As for the Colo, we're actually trying to come back. But we're having trouble recruiting enough people to have a decent roster.

I will miss BJ, and hope he gets recharged and comes back to wrestling somewhere. I think he's definitely been a part of the soul of ROH, and his presence will be missed on the shows. Good luck, man. Also, I like Erick Stevens. So there.
