I have zero problem with Flair going in this year.
But the fact is: his career will end *AFTER* he's inducted into the Hall of Fame, and that just doesn't sit right with me. Losing the next night would sour the moment.
I'm almost hoping his career ends before the HOF induction in a fluke loss or something. Heck, that might even work very well into the HBK/Flair thing: since HBK is so reluctant to be the guy to end his career, have Flair lose before WM24. Then HBK says "Well, dammit.....then it's you and me at WM, no stupid stips and may the best man win." And some figurehead like Regal or McMahon (breaking kayfabe a bit) admits that Flair deserves that last match at WM and lets it happen.
Then, win or lose, we'd know Flair was done at WM24 going into it, his HOF induction is a true career-ending moment, and he'd still get the inhumanly large pop he deserves when that match with HBK is over. I'd respect that.
But instead, Flair will be inducted and then his career will end the next night, when many many fans will still be hoping he wins and be incredibly disappointed when he doesn't.
Dammit.

Unless the E swerves us. Which just makes the whole thing worse.
See, Vince? THIS is why you should have held off a year for Flair and gone the DiBiase route this year! GAH!

So you're saying you'd rather have Flair lose in a "fluke loss" to say.... Mr kennedy, on the Raw before Mania. That's it. Flari's career is over because he fought a heel who cheated. So then he can go into the HOF in a grand fashion, having his last match the next night against HBK anyways?
Or wouldn't you rather have a classic with HBK as his last match..... one he may not even lose..... Which I think personally might happen. Flair wins and choses to bow out on his own.
We know Flair is done (for now) at Mania anyways.

I love Ted and he is definately deserving, but I can't see a guy who never held a World Title being the top honoree at the HOF ceremony. After Flair I would suspect we'll start to see Attitude era guys like Austin, Rock, and Foley get top billing.

Sorry, never meant to imply that DiBiase is over Flair in billing, just felt he should have gotten into the HOF this year instead of Flair. It's a preference, not a ranking. Speaking of which, still hoping the Grahams make HOF this year since we're in Florida. Also, we thinking Peter Maivia will be the Dead Entry this year?

I think the majority of those who post on this board (including me) agree that they are hot-shotting his induction and they should wait until at least next year.

Well since when did HoF spell closing the book on your wrestling career anyway? Hogan, Snuka, Piper, etc have all continued to wrestle periodically. Nobody ever said HoF is the lid on the coffin.

I'll be PISSED if Ric Flair loses at Wrestlemania. I'll never like Shawn Michaels again.
I don't know why you all think Flair'll lose. He's been booked to be unstoppable since the career ending stipulation started. I can only hope that'll continue far beyond Wrestlemania.
I fully expect a Ric Flair win at Mania, and wouldn't consider it a swerve. How can who wins a match be a swerve anyways? A swerve is when what they tell you is happening isn't really. They never tell you who'll win in advance.

You could argue that they are hotshotting it, but for some reason it doesn't matter to me much, considering that Flair winning would be a huge upset.

I think it would be fitting for Flair to lose the night after his induction. Although I personally think he'll die before he retires. And no, I'm not trying to sound morbid.

Honestly, I thought of this last night, I'd love for Flair to announce during his HoF speech that win, lose or draw WM 24 is his last match. I think it would really add to the drama and emotion of both the HoF and his WM match

We know Flair is done (for now) at Mania anyways. Looking back, "fluke loss" probably wasn't the best choice of words on my part. They just do a regular Flair vs. some solid high-to-mid-carder guy match, a week or 2 before WM24, and that guy pulls out a surprise win (in that we don't see it coming). And BAM, Flair's done. But by the end of that Raw (probably not Smackdown, since it's taped), they establish "Well, the WM match will still happen because he deserves to go out on the big show." And then HBK/Flair have their match, and whoever wins wins. Hell, give Flair the nod and he still retires; so they don't have him go back on the "I'LL NEVER RETIRE!" promo from late last year.
