You want the year Wrestling reigned supreme over entertainment, yet you start your choices in 1997? Come on, man, try again!

You should have picked better years,buddy.97 onwards were more famous for the "entertainment" segments(Even if most of them were not entertaining to begin with,or just plain sucked. Most often it was both)
Out of all the evils,I'd have to say 97, mainly because of WCWs vast array of talent.
But of all time,I'd say 92. WWE had great wrestling with Bret Hart,Flair,HBK,Razor Ramon,IRS and Million Dollar Ted,Lucha had the rise of Rey Mysterio,Psychosis,Silver King, Negro Casas,Dr. Wagner Jr.,and La Parka, Japan had Misawa,Kobashi,Kawada,Mutoh,Hashimoto,Shinzaki,Hayabusa(Fresh from his Lucha run),Ultimo Dragon,Super Delfin, and many others.
Wherever you were, their was awesome wrestling.

I'd say sometime around 88-90. I can't pin down a year. Every year has had some amazing matches and a whole lot of stinkers. Wrestling is like everything else, a few winners, a whole lot of losers.

I posted 99' but then I noticed wrestling.
I would change that answer to 96 or 97 in that case.

early 90s, easy. I'd say 90-92. although, 93-94 wasn't bad for WCW talent-wise. Hollywood Blondes, Rick Rude, Sting, Vader...

1997, the majority of matches from both WCW and the WWF were great to watch.

2000 with the Radicals, Jericho and a healthy necked Kurt Angle all fresh and new it was a good time for the wrestling side of things, also lest us not forget it was the golden era for the WWF's tag team division thanks to E and C, Hardys and Dudleys.

1992 would be my vote if it were there.
Flair in the WWF, Bret and Shawn breaking out. Piper on fire, Sid and Hogan in the big jacked dude category. Savage`s last good year in the Fed.
WCW had Vader and Sting on fire, Cactus Jack getting his first foray into the main event, Steve Austin and Brian Pillman. Steamboat always bought the win. Dangerous Alliance as well.
Awesome year.
Out of the choices I would pick 1997 based SOLELY on Canadian Stampede and the WCW undercard.

1997 was the best year for wrestling by far. my friend and i talked about this a couple times. 97 was the year that started the last wrestling boom period.
