Chris Jericho is the new IC champion. Im happy with this move and i think with the moves he was pulling tonight there turning him heel. But now i think Jeff Hardy has locked up MITB.

That, and with Jericho in MiTB anyway, the IC belt still won't be defended. Not like they'd have time to adequately develop a fued, but still.

This can go one of two ways.
1) They get behind a Jericho heel run and have him make the IC title look like a big deal again through big time feuds OVER THAT BELT with guys like Hardy.
2) Jericho can just continue to hover where he is and have about as much focus on the IC title as it's had with Hardy.
2 is the more likely scenario.

Yeah, and the US belt also won't be defended. It almost looked like Hardy was turning heel...

Does anyone remember when Hardy won it? lol
Oh, I guess it just hit me -- Right after SS when Umaga droppped it to face suspension. But STILL, who really cared?

More people would care if they kept having matches like that for the title. That was a pretty exciting match.

I was like "wow, he just lost". but I didn';t care too much. That almost screams Hardy for MITB. Good move though.
Hardy for MITB Fued with Y2J for awhile Cash in MITB at the end of whoever fued after WM

Again, form mini fueds over the IC title, defend it on TV... people will get behind the matches.

Hardy and Jericho need to feud forever. Their matches have been amazing.

Even though Jericho didn't win The WWE Heavyweight Championship, congrats to him.

Tonight was the loudest y2j pop in years I think. Honestley I think its great if they try to fix the belt but dont really see it happening. Y2J will just lay dormant until he loses his smile again

They could've incorporated some great psychology into an IC feud that culminated at Mania, like they did with Bret and Piper. Still, great match. This pretty much frees Jeff up to win MITB, while the IC Title, while a baby step for Jericho back to superstar status, will be an albatross around his neck for that same match. If only someone outside the match had won it.

Y2J as IC champ has a lot of fresh fueds waiting - vs Umaga, Kennedy, Santino, Carlito, Burchill, Snitsky - whoever, Raw is really heel heavy. Could be good for awhile, but I'd like to seem drop it to Santino after a few months and get back to the ME scene.

Jericho's legacy as multi-time Intercontinental Champion lives on. And I think that 30 years from now, when a bunch of world champions are forgotten and washed over, Jericho will still by synonymous with the belt.

Jericho's hard to fathom... he's too far above the IC title but not good enough to be world champion. I guess whatever... Jeff's a better fit for that belt in my opinion though.

If they actually began to build up the IC belt once more, and this is a good place to start, then he'd be perfect for it. A defense of the IC title on PPV would be a nice start...

He didn't really turn heel though, those "heel" moves never really left his moveset. Oh and hmm this adds intrigue into if Hardy can win. But I'm really pulling for Kennedy for some reason, that beatdown has to lead to something. Also the Crowd was more pro-jericho than pro-hardy.
