I went to the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame today in Amsterdam today with my dad. It's a pretty nice place. There's no charge to get in. They do accept donations though.
The Hall is a 2 story building. The 1st floor has a variety of displays of various wrestlers outfits (like Doink's outfit, a Public Enemy jersey donated from one the wives of the wrestlers (Rocco's I think. Was he the one who passed away). There's a display for George the animal Steele, one for women wrestlers, and various figures. They have a place to get PWHF logo themed stuff like shirts. I got one with the class of 2007 on it. Then on the one wall, there's all the plaques for all of the inductees with them put in class order. Then there is various other pictures hanging up through out the floor (some autographed).
The 2nd floor (there's more pictures hanging on the walls of the stair leading upstairs) has 3 rooms upstairs. The one room has various old tapes in there of various federations matches and ppvs (they had the 93 Survivor Series playing. I saw the Hart/Lawler match, the Jenetty/that Finland guy that was building up a feud with Lex, and the beginning of the Undertaker/Giant Gonzales (in full "bigfoot" bodysuit) match) And they had a bunch of old magazines in that room too, like old WWF magazines, Issues of RAW, and other magazines.
Then there was a larger room with a variety of pictures with older wrestlers, and several displays with different wrestling material in them. On the back wall, there was a couple of different cds that were wrestling themed cds, like the cd that the WWE put out of wrestlers themes music. There was also a small exhibit for the Von Erichs, which consisted of some magazines, and the boots and wrestling coat that the wife of David (I think) had donated to the Hall.
The 3rd room had all promotional posters of foreign federations cards, like from Japan.
There was a worker there (I think it might have been one of the main guys), and he said that pretty much every thing there was donated from wrestlers, and they didn't have to pay for anything on display. He also said they took over the building next door, and after the induction weekend, they are going to start using that too.
There was one piece of wrestling crap I noticed there. In of the display, there was the WWF Wrestlemania VHS board game. I also saw a issue of the magazine Cracked that was a wrestling themed issue that I had (I think I got rid of it though). Then up on the 2nd floor in the magazine room, they had a varitey of wrestling books, and low-n-behold, what book was there? The one and only WrestleCrap.
