At every Wrestlemania with him on the card I watched.
I cannot stand his stupid gay, fart and whatever jokes, his wiggerism, his moveset and quite frankly he is not that good, but...
I started watching WWE again in 2004 when Benoit was Champ and Orton beat him and I was rooting for Cena at:
-Wrestlemania 21, where he finally ended JBL's title reign. I totally hated JBL, since he sold his heel persona 100% to me. It felt good to be "a mark again" and have this "good vs. evil" feeling. The last time I had that before was when Hollywood Hogan terrorized WCW.
-Wrestlemania 22, where he saved us from 30 min HHH promos on how he is the greatest and 294392953495-time WHC and blah, blah, blah.
-Wrestlemania 23, where he beat HBK, although this was a close one, Cena still is a better champ than this has-been
And I'm totally rooting for him at this Wrestlemania. Orton looks incredibly week as a champ and if Cena doesn't take the belt from him it will be much worse, since it would mean that Son-In-Law would make himself champ and blah, blah, blah...
Cena really is far from one of my favourites, quite frankly I think he sucks, but he is the lesser evil, ONCE again!

John Cena = John Kerry? YIKES. I'm not a Cena hater, actually. He entertains me and is clearly not hurting business that much.

I still think he sucks. I've always been an Orton fan and would love to see him remain champ, but I understand when people say he's been weak lately. I get the feeling Orton just been holding the belt for Cena this whole time. The belt still has bling on it!
Maybe you guys can help me out here. What is it about Cena you like? When he was a midcard heel, I actually liked him a bit. The annoying wigger bit got some heat. He just seems so pre-fabricated to me now. McMahon has been pushing Cena down our throats as if he's a great champion in the tradition of Hogan, Hart, HBK, and Austin. Unlike those guys, Cena never had to earn his spot by breaking his back for years doing hard work to rise up the ladder in the business. He just seemed to become a superstar over night for some reason.
I understand why McMahon likes him. He's good-looking, has a great physique and his urban look is great for merchandising. What appeals to you guys?

Great Promos Great Matches Loads of Energy
Whats not to like?
Honestly I love the split reactions too. It makes for an incredible atmosphere during his matches.

I didn't see much of Cena on SmackDown when he was facing off against Lesnar and so on. I started watching it right when he was about to make his face turn. I liked his heel gimmick, hitting people with the lock and chain, dis raps about John Ritter, he was very good at it. Once he turned face, I still kind of dug him, but then the childish promos and constant overcoming the odds made me bored with him. Then he wins the title, and the Undisputed title become the Cena World Championship with the spinner and ice all over it. I just can't stand it anymore, I get that he's good and I'd love to be able to cheer for him, but it is incredibly predictable and frustrating. I don't buy his street thug gimmick, it was funny when he was a heel, but annoying as a face. I doubt guys like Dre', Nas, Jay-Z, and others are lining up to work with him. Yeah, he can put on a great match, his matches with Shawn were great, and he worked very well against Umaga and others. I just don't need to see him break every record and end every streak of every guy on the roster. Talking about him ending the Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak is annoying because people say it would be like the torch is passed to him. The man held the WWE title for over a year, he's a multiple time champ, Tag champ, and U.S. champ. He's been in the main event picture for years, the torch was passed a long time ago. But this is only my thoughts on the guy. It would be nice to see the WWE add some dimension to his character instead of getting put in handicap matches and coming out with flying colors. We get it, he's tough. Many on here state that a character is more interesting when they are chasing the title, I couldn't agree more. Austin, Cena, Orton, etc. it's cool to see them go balls out and go after the champ. The WWE doesn't need to make the Cena belt the title design, look at Austin's Smoking Skull belt, nobody carried that when they won it off of him. Rock got it and threw it off a bridge. And yes, I know kids eat that stuff up, but they also bought the Smoking Skull belt even when it wasn't on tv. They see the product on the shelves under the WWE banner, and they will buy up anything and everything they put in front of them. Kids don't need to see something nonstop to want it, they aren't stupid. They see Cena with a spinner belt, even once, and they will want it too. Ok, I'm wrapping this up now. I just want to state my case and hopefully others feel the same way. We do not hate Cena just because it's cool or because we don't appreciate him. We're just tired of his boring character overcoming the odds time and time again and him being booked as if we're supposed to feel for him and his struggle when he has beaten everybody on the roster. And that's it. Thanks for reading my drivel here.

I believe you because you give a very elloquent description of the reasons you don't like him, and while I disagree with you on every single point you're certainly entitiled to your opinion. I would just stop short of saying "we" as if you are speaking for the entire anti-Cena nation.

People either passionately appreciate his character..or passionately hate him. Either way, he gets probably the best reaction of any of the guys, positive and negative.

Every Cena match has a big-match feel. He is the biggest player in WWE right now because all of his matches have a life-or-death feeling to them. He is a superstar in the truest sense of the word.

I only say "we" to represent those who feel the same way I do. Like I said, I'd love to be able to cheer for him, but the man seems to have no achilles heel to beat him and make him seem like a real underdog like Vince and Co. want us to believe. A guy running through everybody he faces isn't entertaining. You can't have the top face win every single time just to make fans happy, that's why there are heels and faces. The heel has to get some wins to make the face's win seem really important.
Cena beating Orton, Trips, Kennedy, and Micheals has become so stale and predictable. That's why I have grow to dislike Cena's character. If Orton or somebody got some wins over him (either through cheating or clean now and then) then when Cena wins, it will make it seem impressive again. But when it's Cena headlining SummerSlam, Unforgiven, No Mercy, Survivor Series, Armageddon, etc. as champ and winning, and winning, and winning, and winning, it turns some fans off.
Again, I know he is their top dog, and I am fine with that, but the invincible babyface isn't popular anymore. Hogan has that title on lock. When Austin, Rock, Foley, Angle, and others were getting jumped by stables such as the Corporation or Ministry, or DX, and it was costing them matches against opponents, you felt for them. You could get mad along with them and you cheered your ass off when they got their revenge. With Cena, you know he's going to win 9 times out of 10, so that emotional investment isn't there.
Again, this is why I think the majority of fans dislike Cena. I know there are those out there that boo him just because they think it is the "cool" thing to do. I have been watching wrestling since I was 9 years old, and I just turned 25 yesterday. You tend to grow with the product. Yes, I loved Hogan beating the evil Sgt. Slaughter and others, but things change. You realize your tastes change and seeing the same thing over and over doesn't entertain you like it did when you were younger.
Again, just my opinion.
